How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I found the hotel to be a bit pricey. We stayed a Saturday and it was $320 (the other nights were business). I don't pay that when I go to San Francisco (for example)! I find it pricey for the lack of amenities - no pool/hot tub or gym. There was mention of a hot pool but it was closed or out of service. I was surprised that this new of a hotel wouldn't have a gym. Minor things (and suggestions for the hotel).... I would have appreciated some salt and pepper in the room as they did have a kitchen. I would also recommend they have way more hangers and hooks around the room. They have 10 hangers per room and no hooks. Considering it is a cold climate, people wear layers and with nowhere to hang the stuff... it was a bit confusing. I would also recommend nicer toilet paper and tissue paper... :)
The location was great. Right in the middle of everything. Walkable to everything - restaurants, grocery store, fast food, bars and pubs. We had an apartment and the amenities were great. Came with microwave, stove and oven, fridge and freezer. Great for long stays. Bathroom and bedroom were great sizes. Bed was comfy. Staff were lovely. Undercovering parking was great. Outlets for your cars. This hotel is also "keyless" - code for door to get in the front door at night, code for the elevator, code for your hotel room door. Nice and secure. Felt safe.

We would have appreciated having a microwave. The room was a bit small, but for just 2 people it was adequate. Our room faced an apartment building, so there was no view.
The Raven is situated adjacent to the Yukon River walk and close to Shipyards Park that had a beautiful display of Christmas lights, which made for a very enjoyable evening stroll. The Hotel has a very nice little restaurant where we enjoyed the service and the breakfast. It is also situated close to several down town stores and restaurants.

No AC in the rooms which made it difficult to sleep in hot days.

The one thing that keeps me from giving an excellent report is the lighting in the above garage suite. Only having ceiling light without a ceiling on the enclosed bedroom made it difficult to sleep in the little bedroom while others in the main room were still awake and trying to read.

we booked 3 and we got only two sets of towels, and they do not provide shampoo & rinse, instead they provide all purpose soap.. after 5 days camping we wanted hair washed with rinse..

The breakfast service was slow, and it was not very good. They were not ready to serve more than one person and it took almost 20 minutes to get coffee. The lighting in the hallways was also very jolting(so bright!)

The noise from 2nd Ave that went long into the night.
The beds, the wooden floors instead of carpeting- so much cleaner, the Air Conditioner, the food in the cafe (wonderful salad and granola-yogurt bowl for breakfast), the friendliness of the staff.

Chair at desk was very uncomfortable hard plastic. Staff were not that great. No greeting when I came. Had to wait 5 mins before I was acknowledged.

We were there for three nights, but did not have our room refreshed with fresh towels or trash/recycling emptied. After our stay, I enquired of the hotel and they apologized for the miscommunication.
The location was very central to everything. A nice , quiet location also.
