Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The hosts were friendly and helpful with suggestions on places to eat and to visit. The breakfast was first class, and healthy with locally sourced ingredients. The cabins were a little on the small side but comfortable none the less and the external shower was excellent, although afterwards I found paint from the shower on my feet 😄

United StatesWe were lucky to stay on a night when many guests wanted the host to cook. They served a delicious French Moroccan meal, served family style in the galley area of the boat. It was a wonderful experience and well worth the money. The host and hostess were friendly and helpful. The rooms were as expected, small with bunks, because that is the experience we wanted - to be on this old sea vessel.

CanadaWish we had longer there.
The tug was fabulous, such a unique experience. Enjoyed meeting, and hanging out with, Bouchra, her husband Daniel and her sister on the tug and dancing with locals to live music by the water. Unfortunately we arrived too late to partake in dinner and left too early to get our breakfast the next morning due to taking the Lady Rose Marine sailing to Bamfield. (Which was wonderful too) Great location to catch the boat, a few minutes walk away.

NetherlandsThe matresses were quite sunken in. The room was very small, which is understandable due to being on a boat, but it was hard to move around and we were unable to store our luggage.
Great location, amazing hosts and amazing breakfast.

United StatesOur cozy cabin grew a little sruffy on the warm night we were there (we were at sea level despite being in the middle of Vancouver Island), but our cabin had a small fan that would have aided in some cross ventilation had we remembered to turn it on.
Breakfast was amazing and will be something we try to reproduce at home. The room sizes are cozy, not large, but this is a tug boat! Mattresses were great. The experience was especially memorable because we were able to take advantage of being there for the Moroccan dinner (not offered every night). Truly a highlight of our week-long trip to Vancouver Island. We will talk and reminisce about this experience long into the future.

CanadaMy husband and I stayed two nights on the floating inn while visiting our friends in Port Alberni. It was out of curiosity that I booked this floating B&B. What a uniquely awesome experience we had! Daniel and Bouchra are caring friendly hosts who are passionate about what they do. Bouchra even accommodated our request to make dinner for us and our 3 local friends on her otherwise off day! She explained all the ingredients and spices she used on her delicious and healthy dishes, she truly cooked with her heart. The room was small but the beds were comfortable. Swept Away Inn is a hidden gem, we will for sure return again.

CanadaNothing to dislike - there is the reality of it being a converted tugboat, so the sleeping and living spaces are relatively small.
The hosts were extremely nice, personable, and hospitable, made you feel well taken care of. The B&B&B (Bed & Breakfast & Boat) was very cool, a unique experience with both world history or personal passion built into it. Gem of Port Alberni for sure; highly recommend for a stay or dining.

GermanyIf you like ships and the sea, this is a must to go place. Very special. The hosts are very kind and make you feel very welcomed. Very good and freshly cooked breakfast. Even though it´s not a bargain, compared to the prices in Tofino it´s still very good value for money and you can easy go for and back to the coast on the same day. Don´t expect the sapce of a 5star hotel, it´s a ship ;-).....
