Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe sheets were quite scratchy and the climate control very poor. The room was very warm (23°) and my only option was to turn the heat on/off, which is nearly useless in a long skinny room surrounded by other hot rooms. I couldn't turn on A/C in the winter months. I opened the doors all the way for hours to get it to cool to a temperature comfortable enough to sleep.
Lovely building, with recent renovations, meeting space was great, bathrooms were clean and catered food was very good. Staff were lovely and responsive. Parking was easy. The room was bigger than expected with a kitchenette and separate bath tub and shower. The TV was huge!

CanadaHow far the location is. It was nearly impossible to get an Uber or taxi. The hotel doesn't have a shuttle service which is unfortunate considering they're located secluded from everything. It took us over 45 mins to get a ride back to the hotel from the Stadium which is only 10 mins drive but over 1.5 hrs walk.
Beautiful hotel up in the mountains. Chic hotel, very clean and classy. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The front desk manager Mark was amazing. He went above and beyond to help us out and made our stay an amazing experience.

CanadaNo free amenities even while being a guest- pool is $45 pp per day, tennis $15 pp (much more reasonable) but still not included. Golf is very expensive too. So to be up away from the city, despite its pretty setting, and charged for everything while being a guest is a major turn off. We’ve been here several times but don’t think we will stay there again because of this. Pillows were super soft, my neck hurt every day. Not the Westin pillows I’ve had in the past.
It’s in a beautiful setting. Rooms are large. The restaurant has a gorgeous view and good service and food.

CanadaThere is something to do for him and her. The Nicklaus design golf course to challenge his mind and body. The Amatista spa (Amatista Signature Treatment—I highly recommend) is for her to get a break from busy life and because she deserves a much needed pampering 😁. I have spent my birthday at Bear Mountain a few times. We have a few drinks in the bar/lounge, then order in and spend a wonderful evening in our suite/balcony with a few friends. I mean, just look at that picture. You can’t help but stop-and-stare while sipping whisky or wine.

Canadai quite particularly would like to see a member of the staff welcome their guests as they disembark from their vehicles at the entrance and offer porter or valet services if desired. we were there for a one night stay right after our wedding, prior to our honeymoon trip. its quite awkward for us to be in my suit, and for my bride in her wedding dress, waiting outside the doors for a porter to greet us and offer to take our bags. i saw that theres a podium set up up front, so its not unreasonable to conclude that there usually is a staff member positioned there. it took us a couple of minutes of waiting outside before deciding to walk in and ask if there are any porters available, and was only told “no” without offering any alternatives to help relieve us of our bags. we were not offered any carts either or made aware of the location of where to get one.
i like the little touches that tells guests the amount of attention to detail applied on the property. it succeeds at making guests feel at home away from home. the property was succesful at promoting the rest of their brand, such as the amazing amatista spa products in the shower, but not in an overly pushy way. the standard hotel cliches of ringing the front desk to being up more towels also doesnt apply to this property. there was more than plenty of creature comforts available to guests.
