Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalSince this is an old building, the walls are very, very thin. While it did not bother us, its easy to hear people walking in the corridors or talking in other rooms. Also noticed the room got very hot easily but it was also an easy fix.
Well located room, just a few minutes away from the nearest metro station and next to Yonge street. We arrived off hours and it was quite easy to access the property and our rooms with the instructions provided. Room was small but had everything needed for a peaceful stay.

CanadaTV screen stayed on after I'd turned it off, so there's light on when you're sleeping. Not a major thing, just a bit weird.
Wonderful location, easy check-in via code & lockbox, located on a quiet street, comfortable bed. Didn't encounter any staff at all during my stay, but things were self-explanatory. Would stay here again.

Sweet room in a charming old building. Five minute walk to the metro and also a very short walk to nice restaurants. Parking available for an extra cost. Easy check in. We arrived late and the self check in instructions were very clear.

CanadaThe only thing I did not like it, there was no one at the front desk at any time. They have a help support number, but if you have any questions or concerns you need to call them in able to get a response.
Both rooms where we were staying were clean. The WIFI does not work properly, which wasn't an inconvenient for us, but, might be for someone who has no data in Canada. The room is small but is cozy. If you have trouble with noisy for sleep bring earplugs, as the AC runs loud.

United KingdomWe had to call multiple times as the line was always busy (on roaming charges) and wait for about 20-25 minutes to gain access to the building.
Great location, well stocked room. Rooms are very small, but this is what you would expect from a Victorian building. Close to the metro station but you can also walk downtown.

AustraliaOn arrival, we were standing at the locked front door asking for a door code even arriving during the mentioned check-in times. We checked our email, but nothing was specified. A code we have found in the email did not work. As we tried, someone must have heard us and opened the door. Check-in was quick, but we were sent to the wrong level. The room was 1 level down. Bathroom was very small. We found the coffee/tea facilities and the fridge on checking the room before check out. They were in a cabinet but not marked at the outside.
Friendly staff, clean room, comfy bed. Good location

United StatesI could not get the TV to work, which would have been nice. The shower had an oddly shaped ceiling, but luckily I'm short enough (5'9") so it wasn't a big deal.
The location was good, next to a train station and walking distance to some shops and restaurants. The bed was comfortable and the room I stayed at was small, but I can't expect much from an old Victorian style place.

ArgentinaBad Wi Fi signal in the 3rd floor room. The electricity does not work well, you cannot turn on the microwave with the hair dryer, it could cause lighting problems. The bathroom was not very clean, nor under the bed or the sofa. It said it had coffee and tea available but there wasn't any. The person at the reception is not there so you have to find him by calling from the door phone because the one in the room did not work. It is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
I booked the studio room, its big. The bed is very confortable. We have a sofa, and a complete kitchen with microwave, freeze, toast, electric jab and a mini hitten. It is ubícated close a metro and between 2 Ave. In the corner it has a mini market open 24hs.

CanadaThe parking is very narrow and the area is very small. I did have difficulty trying to get in and out of the parking lot. I would be careful if you have a larger vehicle.
The location was Central to where we wanted to go, and I like the fact that it was a secure building. The room was small but very comfortable. The building had a lot of unique features to it, it had a charm to it that was really sweet. The young lady at the front desk who assisted us was very helpful.
