The recent refurbishment has fallen into the modern trap of form over function. The curtains were cosmetic as they didn't close, the roller blind didn't go all the way down so I had to use my mechanical skill to fix it so it did. There were no drawers in the room (except for the tiny bedside table ones) and no wardrobe, only a small bar across the corner of the room with four hangers on it! For this reason I'm glad we only stayed two nights there.

The hotel's location was excellent, a short distance from the main railway station although that part of town was a bit quiet in the evenings as it's in the financial district. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and quite large. The room was very quiet in spite of the location as our window faced a brick wall!

I felt I paid more than I expected to pay. The following are all minor but I did pay over £400 for 2 nights. I was with my son and he does not like frosted glass on bathroom doors. The TV flashed a red light all night. The shower had a strange feature with regard to a low level water outlet, a small mechanism needs to be raised for the water to come out of the shower. Insufficient places to put your clothes in the bedroom, like a chair to throw some clothes on for two people, not just one. Apart from that - great, enjoyed it very much.

The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the young lady in the restaurant. The building and lobby were all pleasing. The location is perfect for new comers to the city. I was pleased I made the choice. Breakfast was really nice.

Very noizy, please book your room very far from the elevator there is a note where they say that they turn off the elevator during the night but it is totally false it sooooo noizy. Room are very small and not very convienent. Bathroom have no counter. Our AC broke during our stay.

The room was very small and dark, light didn't really come in from the window because the room overlooked the back of the hotel and all the other buildings so it was surrounded by walls. The lights in the room were poor too, they looked like hospital lights so there was no ambience in the room. The worst part was the elevator, which was broke for my 5 night stay so it made an extremely loud creaking sound every single time it went up and down, constantly. I could hear it in my room, most guests could. Some nights they switched off the elevator from around 10pm to 8am, meaning you had to use the stairs and i was on the 6th floor

The noisy lift

Well located. Easy walk to Union Station and Eaton Centre. Hotel served a delicious classic eggs Benedict in their cafe. There was a breakfast deal available at check in. Lobby was beautifully decorated and a cool place to hang out. Our room had recently been redecorated and was very comfortable.

Bed was uncomfortable, I heard people talking all night outside my door, the elevator was so loud it would wake me up and there was a constant beeping sound. The shower curtain wouldn’t even close

Clean and interesting, with a relaxed atmosphere. Very close to transportation and attractions. Staff was courteous and helpful and the restaurant was excellent. Would and will stay there again.

Great location, right downtown. The room was small and basic but it had everything we needed and was clean and well-maintained. If you're looking for a reasonably-priced place, for a short stay right downtown, you can't beat this place.

The bathroom wasn't cleaned very well the tub didn't plug for a bath banging at 9 am of cleaner next door the passcard didn't work up to 11 I left to go out for coffee and got locked out at 1030 then had extended stay till 12 and cleaner banging on my door at 1040 am just was a bit annoyed by these things also inconvenience of no drop off zone or parking the price was high even for the location and parking was a rip off too

The nostalgia of the place was awesome the beds were comfortable the staff was amazing and helpful the little candy dish and matches and postcard were cool..
