Very good service, food provided for breakfast and dinner were more than enough with a different menu for dinner everyday that was impressive. Staff were friendly and kind, had direct access to the cog wheel train and the views were amazing - able to see the Matterhorn from your room or the viewpoint.

The Kulmhotel Gornergrat exceeded our expectations, but maybe not in the way you'd think. We visited the Gornergrat a few days before Christmas and had intended to ski during our stay. A totally random snow / wind storm hit Zermatt during our stay and we were literally completely snowed in to the hotel for 2 days (the Gornergratbahn was not running at all). This was the greatest blessing in disguise. The staff at the Gornergrat took the most amazing care of us and ensured we were comfortable, entertained, and well-fed. Our family spent the 2 days watching Christmas movies, drinking hot chocolate (a special chili hot chocolate courtesy of the staff!), and playing board games. What could have been a disaster turned into a surprise highlight. And, as the cherry on top, on our last day the sky opened up and we had the most stunning views of the Swiss alps and the Matterhorn. I would recommend this hotel and this team to anyone. Can't wait to go back again one day and remember the time we were snowed in. It's one of our favorite memories.

However, the restaurant proved to be an enigmatic place. The first dinner left much to be desired – the dishes were simple and failed to impress with their flavors. It was so unexpected that I hesitated to attend the next dinner. Yet, the second evening brought a complete reversal – dinner turned out to be a culinary revelation. Nevertheless, reminiscing about the first dinner, I am left with a question: perhaps the chef unexpectedly fell ill, and a stoker filled in for him? As it is known, stokers consume vodka due to the hardship of their profession, and vodka is traditionally paired with pickled foods. Maybe he discovered the entire collection of pickled products in the pantry and displayed them at the buffet, as well as adding them to the main dish. I have yet to find another explanation for this remarkable paradox.

Overall, the hotel left an unforgettable impression. Perched atop Gornergrat Mountain, it was engulfed in the splendor of mountain vistas. Even the bathroom window served as a frame for a picturesque view, allowing me to savor endless landscapes while seated on the toilet. The rooms were not only bright and immaculate but also tastefully decorated, creating an atmosphere of comfort and luxury. The staff exhibited a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. Having an on-site restaurant was especially crucial, given the absense of other establishments amidst the mountains.

Didn’t expect much with a remodel hotel but the interior design is actually quite interesting with a great concept. Friendly staff especially the waiter of our dinner. And, of course, the stunning view of Matterhorn from room window is unforgettable.

Dinner could be improved.

Expensive but to us, it worth every penny. We got the amazing view of Matterhorn but more valuable thing is that after 3p, we could settle down and also enjoy the Matterhorn at sunrise. The included dinner was underwhelmed while the breakfast was awesome. Staffs were polite as well.

We celebrated for our family member birthday during our stay at 3100 kulmhotel gornergrat. The restaurant server were very helpful, heartwarming. Also, the dinner and breakfast were so great with significant Mountain View. At dawn, you can see the amazing scenery of the Matterhorn. Definitely, highly recommend!!
