Two days before arrival and months after booking, we received an email advising that the restaurant would be closed, other than for breakfast. As it happens, we ate very well and easily at the restaurants in town, it was just a surprise to be told in the manner we were. Also worth noting that the wifi is switched off at 11pm and not switched on again until I think it was 7am. This is supposed to be helping the green credentials of the hotel, but goodness knows how? Finally and most alarming of all, the hotel hit me with a £20 per night "energy supplement" on top of the approx £300 per night B&B charge. Needless to say I hit them back and it was removed when I refused to pay it. I do not like being taken advantage of and if they close the restaurant and switch off the wifi to save energy and money, why the heck should I pay forty quid more .......not happening.

The rooms are actually suites, with lounge and kitchenette and separate bedroom and en-suite facilities. Spotlessly clean and modern and very comfortable. The hotel is very central in Andermatt, quite literally a few steps into the central area of restaurants , bars and cafes.

The rooms were spacious, well maintained and clean. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The location was convenient to access shuttles, restaurants and ski shops. The convenient ski room included a boot warmer wall.

Hotel Crown was very clean and the rooms were very comfortable. The ski storage room and bus to the lift were very nice amenities to make skiing access easy. Breakfast was convenient and the dining area also doubled as a nice place to have a drink or read while waiting for your room to be ready or waiting to depart.

the only thing that didn’t work for me is that the pillows were too soft, i would much prefer firmer support for my neck. no complaints from the younger people in our group though

we loved many things about our stay at Hotel Crown: 1. the Staff were absolutely incredible. Both Margarita and Laura at reception were amazingly helpful both before the start of the stay and during, dealing with our questions and guiding us through our first ski holidays in Switzerland. 2. the breakfast, though with limited selection, was very obviously fresh and very tasty 3. the location right in the middle of the quaint part of the village. not so close to the ski lifts but: consider renting your skis from Snow summit which is right next to the lifts. we left our rental skis and boots at the shop every day and could walk back the 5 mins to the hotel on own shoes and without carrying skis. (but even if not, there are other options) 4. totally clean hotel throughout and tastefully decorated. obvious care for leaving as small environmental footprint as possible with minimising waste (bring own toiletries if you need creams etc…)

The Crown is very modern, the staff was excellent (friendly and helpful) and the breakfasts had everything. Plus, the location is so close to the restaurants and bars and only a few minutes walk from the gondolas.

Wonderful staff! The previous pro Telemark skier that works on the hotel is just the most lovley and energetic man, with super service. The room is also very nice and have everything you need. Simple but good breakfast.

Although the hotel is on the main street, but it is very quiet and cozy. The staff is wonderful. The person at the front desk was very polite and just amazingly helpful. He gave us lots of advice on what to see in the town as well as in the area. The food for dinner and breakfast was delicious. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
