While this is a small village , manager was wonderful and even took us back to the train station. It is the first hotel on the shopping area and you can walk there if you know the direction

Nice central location. They offer both well designed modern rooms or rooms with lots of charm from the past. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to go back.

Hotel Adler was the perfect location for our brief stay in the Appenzell region. The hotel was within 3 -4 min walking distance from the train station and ideally located near many of the main sites within Appenzell, including the public pool, the Appenzell liquor factory and the Appenzell brewery. The rooms were large and very comfortable. The breakfast was very good as well with the bread, butter, cheese and yogurt being directly from the Appenzell region. The fondue restaurant in the lower level was incredible too - it may be the best fondue I have ever had. Finally the staff was just wonderful. Everyone was so kind and thoughtful, particularly Matjaz Leu. He was able to provide so much valuable advice during our stay and even was the one to make the fondue!

Nothing wrong at all, it was perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better location. The village is remote but it is really worth visiting. Anyone who lives in Switzerland or comes to Switzerland should come to Appenzell.

The staff was exceptional. The food was good, freshly prepared and plenty of options for the breakfast. The location was very convenient. If you are a runner, there's a trail right next to the hotel, it's brilliant.

The hotel is centrally located in Appenzell and a short walk from the Appenzell train station. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the staff, especially Matthias Leu (the owner/operator), were extremely pleasant and informative.

There were no negatives to our stay. Everything exceeded our expectations.

Everything about my time at Adler exceeded my expectations. Matjaz was a phenomenal host. He went out of his way to make everything perfect for us. I felt like we came to Switzerland as tourists and left with a new friend. I couldn't be happier!

Nothing except some air conditioning but that’s to be expected and it didn’t get too warm!

Wow! What a great place to stay! The staff was super friendly and the room was wonderful! The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was nice! Excellent location! Would definitely stay here again! And they have a restaurant also-we are there both nights the included breakfast was a nice touch!

Amazing location in town. We were upgraded to the Adler Suite upon arrival, which was BEAUTIFUL and so comfortable! We opened the windows and listened to the river at night. The gentleman at reception was so kind and helpful- we loved our stay!

The hotel was great but what sets them apart was the staff. I had a medical issue that could have potentially been serious and they offered to personally drive me to the hospital to make sure I was taken care of, and checked up on me several times as well. Other staff were very helpful as well. Will definitely return!

Our stay at the Adler hotel was highlighted by staff who went far beyond expectations in making us comfortable. They are perhaps the very nicest people imaginable. The hotel location on the edge of the scenic area is also optimum.
