Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA few staff members were a little rude when I asked some questions, it could be quite loud where people arrived/left for flights at different times (though ear buds were provided) and it was a bit warm in both the dorm and the pods. It would also be handy to have a microwave or something so you don't have to buy the expensive food at the hotel, or trek to the airport. However, even with these complaints, I really did enjoy my stay and would definitely recommend it.
The place was incredibly clean, and I loved the fact it had a bar etc! They really thought of everything. Not to mention, the incredible bathrooms. The showers are fantastic, with high water pressure and your own little part of the cubicle to get changed where it's dry.

Liechtenstein1. Getting out of the top pod is rather difficult not to say a bit dangerous. 2. People who can‘t respect others by banging doors and loudly talking during sleeping hours.
Closeness of the hotel to the check-in is unbeatable! Everything needed provided (towels, bath mat, bedding) and amenities are super clean.

RomaniaEven with ear plugs, the sound of the sliding doors of the capsules is quite loud and people come and go all night long. Not much anybody can do about it but you might not get much sleep if you are a light sleeper.
If you have to wait one night for your flight, Capsule Hotel is the place to be. It is right near the gates of Zurich Airport (5 minutes walk), very clean, with a bar/lounge area. The bathrooms have showers with individual doors, hair dryers and every capsule comes with a towel and ear plugs.

United KingdomThe doors to each room seems to operate on a ‘slam’ basis only which is annoying and avoidable - it should be possible to adapt them so that there is a ‘soft’ close. Of course, guests could try harder but the doors only seem to fully close with a bit of added pressure, hence the slamming racket.
Directly across from check in area 1 (ie. directly across the road). Easy to find - follow the directions in the airport to check in area 1 and there you are. Amazing that many of the reviews grumbling about it being hard to find don’t bother to mention how to locate. It does what it says on the tin - the capsules are cosy and, well, capsules. Perfect as a stopover for flights or train. I had a 5:30am train and it more than adequately covered what I needed. Lots of showers with shampoo and shower gel provided - no hanging around waiting of any description. Easy check in with the app - and easy to operate pin to access room and capsule. I’d go for a lower bunk if you’re less agile - the step ladder to the upper bunk is quite steep and manoeuvring in and out of the capsule can be a bit fiddly.

IndiaThe capsules were not effectively sound proofed, so I could not sleep effectively for each time someone entered or left their pods and the room woke me up. I had booked the pod on the top which was a bit difficult to get in and out from due to the angle and manner in which the small ladder is placed.
Extreme proximity to the airport. Very clean toilets and shower areas. A cozy bar to relax with books.

United StatesThe location is in the airport but surprisingly hard to find. The air fresheners were sooo overwhelmingly strong. It closed up my throat but everything was clean!
The beds were great. Surprisingly not claustrophobic. Everything was exceptionally clean. The showers were great. The restaurant/bar is open 24/7. Anything extra you may need you’re right next door to the best airport. Even a pharmacy lol. Everything was great.

GuatemalaIt was a bit hard to find the hotel. I was coming in from the train station and felt like I was running around in circles in the same area and could not find the capsule hotel. Maybe a better signage? Once in the hotel, I did not see how or if there was a way to choose your bed (lower or upper area), I would have chosen to be on the lower area, I am fit, but is quite hard to get down when you just woken up and trying to find the right step to get down in the dark. Also, it was mixed men and women. Unlike the ones in Japan where you get to choose men/women only. While I understand that it is a "capsule" and not really sound proof, I did find it that there were some people that do not respect the fact that these are shared spaces and once you are in the capsule area, we all should be mindful of the level of noise we all produce. Our voice levels need to be lowered, kicking down the entry doors or laughing out loud is disrespectful to other travelers.
The Hotel grounds are quite pristine, good decor, good ambiance. The bathrooms were clean, the shower areas were clean and provided shampoo and body soap in case you did not bring your own. I think I only saw access to 1 large towel, I am sure if I had asked for another one it would have been provided though I did not see where I could. It is a capsule hotel and as long as you understand what the purpose of it is, you will find that this is great value for what it is. I had a very early international flight out of Zurich that being inside the airport made a huge difference for me. Is good for one night, to get some sleep for a few hours, but not for extended stays. I would not recommend. The Hosts are all very helpful and friendly.
