It was a very cold day and we would have liked to sit in the bar for a hot drink or cocktail but the bar was closed. The restaurant was also closed although this we were informed about by telephone prior to our arrival, which was appreciated. It was however one of the reasons for booking at the Ascott that it had a restaurant on site given it was such a cold weekend.

The place was very clean and conveniently located to the old town of Aarau by a short bus ride. Free onsite parking a real bonus. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was great!

Convenient , good price. , central sitting on your on floor with free coffee and tea when never you need. Plus microwave and refrigerator for your own meal . The balcony in the room is big and calm with garden view . The room is clean we’ll arrange with bath tub. I am very satisfied. The breakfast is also great .

The only thing was that my room was looking to the road, so I had to close the windows to sleep, Otherwise it was a bit loud with the cars. I suppose it also depends on the room tho.

The owners of the hotel were incredibly nice and helpful. I was traveling for work and needed to arrive before the check-in time to drop my stuff and change. The receptionist was so nice to let me change in one of the empty rooms before the check in and leave my baggage by them. The rooms are absolutely clean, the bathroom sparkling and with all the necessities. You also get 2 bottles of sparkling water in the room. Location is perfect since you can walk to the old city of Aarau by foot. Definitely will come back.

The first thing you see when entering the room is an old, stained carpet. At least the rest is clean. It is extremely warm in the room. The breakfast could be a bit more attractive. It was on the limit to what a hotel should offer for breakfast

Staff was very helpful. Bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location is ideal, within a 10 minutes walk your are in town.

Could not have Breakfast, it is served only from 7:00, I had to be at the Bus at 7:00 already. It was booked including breakfast but there was no indication only from 07:00

Street-side rooms get the evening sun in summer, so if it's been warm (27° during my stay, at the lower end of a particularly hot summer) they take very long to lose their heat even with a fan, cooler outdoor temperature at night and windows wide open (but road gets reasonably quiet only well after midnight). I was not surprised given previous comments and would have preferred a garden-side room (but none were available on Booking, and I didn't think to ask).

Very welcoming, friendly, clean and comfortable. An easy short bus ride into town if you're not up to walking. The windows offer very good sound-proofing when closed. Management kindly accommodated a last-minute change to my booking due to a family emergency.
