Out of the way location at the end of a narrow street - probably excellent for hikers in the summer; less so for skiers when winter road conditions might make location dicey. Excellent value for the money especially with how hospital the staff were.

Property was clean, plain but nicely appointed (chocolate on the pillow; bottles of waters) - shared bath down the hall. There is a cute restaurant adjacent to hotel for dinner and included breakfast.

On Google Maps the way to the hotel that is shown is dangerous. Please check the way. We ended up on an almost 70 degrees way which was narrow. There is another road which is much much better, so please check which way GPS is showing.

The beds were not comfortable, we didn't have a place to leave our stuff (table or something), neither in the room or in the shared bathroom. Not even some hangers for towels in the bathroom.

The location, the breakfast and the restaurant were very good. Raclette and Käseschnitten are totally recommended.

How far from Zermatt is was and the road to get there. We took a road up next to the hotel and it was very dangerous. Google maps took us that way. The hotel should warn what road to take.

Good view high above the valley, so quieter than staying in the valley. friendly staff, comfortable room. Staff were kind, I was going to leave earlier than the normal breakfast time & they left out a breakfast plate for me to help myself in the morning was lovely.

During my stay the road outside was being resurfaced which made it noisy and dusty so wasn't quite the relaxing stay I'd envisaged, but that will all be fine now.

Beautiful village overlooking the valley. Very nice comfortable room and bathroom. Great terrace for a drink or dinner.

Shower was very good (string pressure and adjustable temperature). Breakfast was all right. I was allowed to check in early (12:30 pm) which I really appreciated due to severe storm outside.

Everything was okay, there was nothing we did not like.

Beds where comfortable. Breakfast was fine. Location was more than excellent. Staff and owner where very friendly. We expected a room with television/bathroom but it was a shared bathroom and we had no television. It was not a problem but not what we expected and not what was on booking.com mentioned.

The location of this hotel is great for starting the Europaweg walk along the Mattertal. You need to walk downhill first to Herbriggen then up again to the Europahut. It's a very quiet village and the hotel has everything you would need for a good night's stay. The welcome from the owners was very helpful, the evening meal was great, the room and bed were very good and the breakfast was good. the picnic provided for the next day was really good!
