No soundproofing in the connecting rooms - hotel staff was kind and tried to resolve the issue with the guests next door, but basically even normal voice conversation sounded like they were in my room. In case of inconsiderate neighbors, having this kind of room can be unpleasant.

The A/C system is not good as it blows all the time and it is not possible to set up room temperature, so it was cold in the room. Also, no slippers in the room so it gets even colder as your feet freeze when you are in the room barefooted...

I liked the complimentary ticket for public transportation. The staff is nice. The room was good and position is superb if you are attending event at the congress center which is in the same building...

Although a 4* star hotel the minibar was empty, no slippers were provided, no care set in the bathroom. The reception staff was willing to help but a bit stiff, arguably they could do better.

The location (10 min walk from the centre), multiple trams/buses nearby, they provided with a Basel card (free public transport, discounts for museums and other public activities). Neat hotel, clean and spacious rooms.

Modern, spotless, welcoming. Conveniently located right across the street from the Exhibition Center. Excellent breakfast and fitness area. A problem with the AC in my room was promptly and effectively addressed.

The staff were great and solved any problems with our accommodation with the least amount of hassle involved. The room was great and the breakfast was really good. The rest of the city was accessible from this location by tram, and we were given myBasel cards by the Hotel which gave us free travel on the buses trams for most zones even up to the German and French borders. MyBasel cards also gave us discounts to museums and a couple of events, so it was definitely worth having. MarktHalle Basel is worth visiting if you have difficulty finding a place to eat, and is easily accessible from this location.

The ventilation in the room was extremely noisy and the only way of turning it off was to turn off the power to the entire room... but then we couldn't use the power sockets to charge electronics. There was an unexpected deposit of 100CHF per night that had to be payed. Money was payed back 5 days after check-out. Never had to do this at any other hotel before.

The room looked really nice, bed was cozy, location was good and the breakfast was really good. The staff was helpful and we could leave our luggage in the hotel storage for a few hours after check-out.

For sightseeing, other side of the river is better, but it is not far away, therefore still great.

It is pricey but we splurged anyhow. Breakfast for 2 was $80!

The bed was very comfortable with quality linens. Everything was very clean. The staff were helpful.
