Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe pillow is bad. Super aged and uncomfortable… please buy some new pillows.
The idea of a capsule is excellent! For someone who suffers from sleeping problems and with limited budget like me, it is a perfect option between hostel and hotel. I like my capsule. It was very quiet and clean. The price is unbeatable in Switzerland. The location is very good, 5 mins walk from Basel SBB. It is not possible for an early check-in but they offer a luggage room. The staffs are nice.

United KingdomSelf check in, I prefer to be greated by a friendly member of staff. If you come don’t expect to meet anyone in the hostel as it’s not very sociable since everyone has their own pod and it’s a huge building with co- working space, cafe and apartments
I liked how close it was to the main train station which made it super easy for my early morning train to Zürich. The shower pressure was really nice and clean!

SwitzerlandWe messaged twice to have a Parking booked. Once we arrived, there was no Parking reserved for us. (Luckily, we found a spot on the street.) The coffee machine was not clean (there was sticky dust on it).
Very friendly staff (George and Helen)! We loved it that the hotel organised for the guests a guide to lead us to the best spot to watch the "Morgestraich"!

United KingdomWasn’t sure if you could get to reception from the same building ? The light near the sink, I was pod 1 and had it open due to the heat so meant light stayed on all night. Couldn’t see a button at all to turn it off and it’s not very eco being on all the time. Was challenging to find as wasn’t aware you had to walk through the train station to get to it - maybe worth mentioning that to guests The pod was so so soo warm, I wish I could rate it 10/10 but this is a big issue and appears to be repeated in comments. It’s not nice being stuck in a container and hot. There should be a way to control your own pod, for example I like to sleep in a very cold room. I woke up feeling awful. I really hope this element can be improved because otherwise it’s fantastic!
Looked brand new very clean. Comfortable bed. Loved the vibe of the capsule. Great waterfall shower, all very clean. Close to train station Check in without seeing a human

United StatesUnusual bed arrangement, which was not adequately explained when we arrived. 2nd night was much more comfortable when the 3 of us discovered that we each had a separate space. Shared bathroom and showers.

GermanyI didn't know it was a work space with a hotel attached, and I was a bit confused going inside. Luckily a friendly member of staff helped me. But i didn't see much staff the rest of the time. If you know what to expect going in, then it will be fine. The check-in system is easy to use. I had to keep the door open on my pod because it was hot and i wanted fresh air while i slept. That might be a problem for some.
Sharing a room and still having your own private space is the best of both worlds. Also a lamp, and charge sockets in your pod. The mattress was very comfortable. Cafe and shared office area is really nice if you don't want to go out but want a change of scenery. An easy walk from the train station and shops. I would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomNot a dislike from me necessarily, but worth noting that as the capsule door is an actual solid door that closes completely (which isn't very common in other capsule/bunk rooms I've stayed in) it can feel quite claustrophobic, and can take a bit of time to get used to. For the same reason (the solid door closing completely) it isn't the greatest place to stay on very hot summer days—there is constant airflow to the capsule, but even so it can (and did) feel a bit too hot at times. There is aircon in the room, but it seemed to turn off every 5minutes or so.. The little steps to upper capsule were a bit creaky and wobbly. And there didn't seem to be much space for luggage — not sure you could put a medium/large suitcase anywhere (not a problem for me. There aren't that many showers in the capsule area, and while they are very big ( a whole area to change in and then the wet room), they didn't feel the cleanest (maybe people were taking more showers than expected as it was Very Hot outside).
An unique capsule hotel experience — I liked how you can lock your capsule, although I feel like the beeping from the keypads would be annoying to other people. Your capsule has a hook and a railing to hang things from, several sockets and lights, and little shelf/table. The bed was very comfy. The room had a sink, which was nice. There is a cafe and seating area in the main building, which was very lovely, and also an inner courtyard. There is also a guest kitchen where you can prep your own meals. Worth noting that the kitchen and cafe seating area close at 23:00 when the reception closes, but there are other seating areas. The staff were one of the most attentive and friendly I've ever seen, with tons of good suggestions for things to do and see and eat!

AustriaThe pod gets extremely hot, even with the Aircon on in the room. It needs some kind of air circulation otherwise it feels like a coffin. Also, there was no place for luggage. Thankfully I was travelling with a backpack and bags, but they had to sit by my feet on the bed.
Very convenient location, easy check in, comfortable bed and great shower facilities. Very kind staff, when you find them! WiFi was good, good lighting in the pod, good to have a washbasin in the room.
