Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

SwitzerlandI received about 10 messages for check-in instructions within 5 days. Most of them the same. I was asked to check-in online but there was no link. Some e-mails I received looked like spam (attachment broken). In the end I did the check-in at the entrance but had to enter manually a lot of information including passport details of the kids (usually hotels don't ask me for so many details). The apartment is close to a noisy street. With closed windows it is fine. I found the street too noisy to sleep with open windows.
Large apartment - like on the pictures, great location (tramway close by, not far from main station), nice view, calm, lots of facilities.

NetherlandsThe apartment is bigger than I was expecting. It was very clean and had everything that a family needs. The location is great, just few blocks from the Limmat river and the main train station. It is possible to park the car just in front of the building for free from 20h - 9h. During the day you can just park for 2 hours for a fee (1CHF per hour). If you forget to pay or stay longer than 2 hours, the fine is 40CHF.

FinlandIt was very hot time of the summer, without air-conditioning felt like a desert. Even requested hypoallergenic room, 2 times confirmed by front office manager Angelina Bettler (?), we had feather-pillows, communication with housekeeping & fo seems not to work or then it's just a automatic answer to the requests via Booking.com... Contactles c/i & c/o is weird and we didn't feel so welcomed, so very difficult to say anything of the staff. Feather-pillows were changed quite quickly after calling somewhere (there was a "front-office" phone in the basement, housekeeper was apologizing .
Cosy, spacious, clean and peaceful apartment. Kitchen was very well equipped (except baking paper sheets would be quite practical 2-3 pieces). Location was nice and peaceful, near by the tram stop, 20-30 minutes walk from the main railway station.
