The breakfasts, to my mind, didn't live up to billing. Not as impressive as we had expected from what we'd read on the website. We've had worse but we've also had much better. The other thing was that breakfast was served in a fairly compact area, which at times became a bit frenetic when a lot of guests arrived at the same time. Staff struggled to clear tables and ensure that products were topped up.

The hotel is in an excellent location, less than a 5-minute walk from the river Rhine and the riverside paths and cafes. It's easy to get there from the airport using the efficient and very regular public transport. The number 50 bus from the airport takes you into Basel SBB train station and there is a regular tram service directly opposite the station. Very convenient. Despite the breakfast comment, we wouldn't rule out another stay. It's worth mentioning that you can show your hotel booking details to enjoy free public transport from the airport. The hotel will issue guests with a Basel Card on arrival. This offers free transport throughout your stay as well as discounts to several attractions such as the zoo and some museums.

Spacious room and a good breakfast. The hotel is close to the river and university. Car parking is in a public car park a short walk away.

Woken up by staff + guests speaking loudly outside the room. I was quite jetlagged but it was after 9pm as that is when I fell asleep.

Convenient location next to the tram stop and bus stops. Also close to the river. The room is clean and comfy. The bathroom was also clean with a large shower. I liked that the window opened so you can get a fresh breeze through the room rather than have the air con on.

The breakfast is out-priced. The choice is very humble, but the price matches the price of a good dinner in the Italian across the road. The hotel breakfast of that quality should maximum cost € 10, but definitely not € 30 per person.

It was not ideally clean in the room, it was really hard to figure out how to change the temperature in the room and was little bit noisy from outside.

THe hotel was great, location is perfect and easy to reach by public transport.

Room was quite small and the bathroom very small. Shower was cosy and had a tendency to put water over the floor. At check in we were asked if we wanted a breakfast (27 Swiss francs each!) we said no yet breakfast was put on the bill which was then taken off at check out. When we checked in 150 francs was taken off my debit card which we were told would be deducted from the balance at check out. Then at check out we were told we had to pay the full amount and wait for the 150 francs to be credited in 15 days time! After a short debate the 150 francs was taken off the bill.

Very good location on the tram 11 stop (from the station only 10 mins). Helpful staff. Rooms clean. Bed and sheets very comfortable and plenty of wardrobe space.
