How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

the restaurant manager was not a very pleasant person, he was very loud and I could’ve sensed that he’s not treating his staff appropriately in front of guests. I don’t speak Italian but my friend does and he understood everything. the rest of restaurant staff was very nice.
the location was great, breakfast was good but could have a better variety. it was very clean and neat, price was also okay for what we got. reception staff was very welcoming and friendly.

the room is dated, but it was clean.
the hotel is okay and good value for money, because its so expensive in Switzerland. the best part was that its a short walk to the center and that they have a parking garage.

Our only criticism is the scrambled egg on the breakfast buffet, which as left in a bain marie becomes overcooked and was somewhat bland. Would be better cooked to order or maybe offer omelette.
This was our second stay. It was even better this time as our first visit was during Covid. The evening set menu was very good and excellent value for money. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient.

Maybe the choice of evening meal could have been more varied.
Breakfast very good the location excellent nearby to lake lugano with good bus service and nearby train service which was all free if you stayed at the hotel.

the rooms are a bit noisy, you can heat people walking and talking in the hallway.
Location in Paradiso, 5 min walk from the lake and a bit away from the busy centre. the staff was very friendly and helpful. the large terrace to have breakfast.

The breakfast was quite poor. The staff didn't clear the tables and the offer on the buffet was very basic.
The location was good and it was easy to park in the garage.

given the time of year and that the hotel was no where near full I was hoping for a better view but it’s not something I lost sleep over

IMHO, the hotel's in need of renovation. It hasn't seen anything like that for quite some time....
Very friendly staff. They even called to enquire about the time of arrival. After 11pm a entry code is required. Parking garage with a couple of charging stations equipped.

Breakfast was good but could have been better with little more choices of bread. But I have no complains.
We had a great stay at Hotel Delfino. It is at very convenient location, just 100 mts from a bus stop and also very close to the lake side. I particularly liked my room which has great lake and mountain view from the balcony as exactly mentioned in the room description. We were there for our anniversary celebration and on our request hotel staff arranged nice complementary cake and flowers for us before our arrival which was really awesome. I would definitely consider staying there again on my next visit.

One staff is terrible service mind as not a good listener and full of her ego which no understanding of respect peoples. This is only one thing i don’t like here. I am glad that i met her only once!
Breakfast is kind of severals and good quality. The room is clean and the bed is very comfy. Parking is indoor that perfect. Most staffs is nice and work as professional.
