There is absolutely nothing not to like about this place.

The lodge is a hidden gem at the outskirts of Fribourg. It consists of very modern, quiet, clean rooms and facilities, including convention rooms. The rooms are reasonably priced and the fact that the bathrooms are not within the rooms, is not necessarily a withdrawal. To my opinion, it is perfectly okay, not to have TVs in the rooms , there is a good internet connection in the common areas, I feel that is more than enough for getting in touch with people. Pets are free of charge and a spacious pet poop area with poop bags is provided. The staff is young, friendly motivated and helpful. Surrounded is the lodge by well kept gardens, some bee hives, sheep, goats and very cute acapulcas. There is also a restaurant in the building that provides a buffet style breakfast every day, as well as lunches and dinners a la carte Monday through Friday. I investigated and found out that this lodge was a former Jesuit convent that was taken over and converted into a lodge by a society who’s aim is to reintegrate people with handicap, hence it is a win/win situation for all. Chapeau!

Breakfast... very minimal and disapointing, but that we also found of the rest of the facilities, in the bedroom only one pillow, duvet, hand towel and bathtowel. we had to order a second (room booked for two people.) facilities in the room also minimal. writing tabel would not hold my laptop, the stool was comfortable but only one person could down the other must use the bed to work on their laptop, very uncompfortable. For a bisiness person short stay super, but for our journey not so good.

The staff were very helpful, and the parking was good. the grounds were very tidy and well kept.

Everything was working. If something, the air conditioning in the room could be nice, but it was good enough like this.

Quite basic and lacking facilities. No tea or coffee making facilities and nowhere nearby or on-site to buy a drink/coffee, particularly on weekends or later at night. No cups in the room for water. No TV. No full length mirror. No air con. Thick duvets on the bed despite it being very hot weather and only a single pillow per person.

Clean, decent sized room,. Breakfast fairly good and had gluten free bread. Nice view.

Nothing not to like.

What a lovely welcome! Great rooms, very comfortable beds, large bathroom with a bath. We were on the ground floor but had a great view over the garden. Easy parking. The breakfast was great and the lady so helpful, friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again.

Everything was great; the hotel exceeded our expectations. Great location if arriving by car, but not convenient for those arriving by train.

Room was very nice, spacious, comfortable beds, updated and spotless. It was set up as a king bed in the main room with a large nook with window that had a single bed. Perfect for 3 people. Quiet location far from busy roads; we were able to sleep with the windows open since there was no street noise. Free parking which was great since we arrived by car and parking in the center is difficult and expensive (if you arrive by train I would suggest staying at a hotel in the center). To visit the historic old town and surroundings we left the car at the hotel and took the public bus (bus #2) to the Cathedral (the hotel gave us a printed voucher for free public transportation during the days of our stay; bus stop is about 5-6 blocks from the hotel) and walked a lot (best way to explore the old town IMO). We also received a voucher for 20 CHF off that could be used at a good number of restaurants in town. Breakfast in the morning was individually prepared on a tray and was delicious and plentiful (croissant, pastries, butter, jam, cheese, hard boiled egg, fruit, yogurt, orange juice and a selection of hot beverages with unlimited refills). Since the weather was nice we were able to eat outside with nice views of the garden and low risk of COVID.

The restaurant is closed on a Sunday which maybe i missed in the smallprint? But is a major issue when you arrive late and hungry. The photos make it look like a really beautiful place in the countryside, but for me it is not in the country and the views are of the tallest buildings in Fribourg, i was really disappointed.

The people at reception were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable.

The bed was comfortable but creaky. The desk was rather small for two people.

The view was fantastic. It was really peaceful and quiet. The hotel was not far from the centre. Everything was clean, the staff was friendly. The overall price was great, especially considering the free parking and breakfast.
