We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe hotel looks like it is on the lake but it is actually separated from it by a very busy road, which ran all night and I got little sleep. I had booked a twin room but I got a double. In the end they let us have the triple, which was still available, for the same price. I'm not sure whether that is a hotel issue or a Booking.com issue but looking at reviews it has happened before. It seems accommodation is at a premium in this area because the price (£170 or so) was very high for the hotel. The breakfast was OK but typical USA type fare. Full marks to the staff though. They were brilliant.
The staff were great. I was walking with a friend heading to Rome and realized I had too much in my bag so they looked after half of the contents until I returned a few days later by train.

FranceVery small room for the family! Besides there is very few electric socket and no any updated lock-key system! Actually, it is ancient room and no air conditioning functioning for this, had to use their fan! This is not modern system as well as bad sound for sleeping! I appreciate to their cordial support for the receipting!

SwitzerlandThe hotel is unwelcoming, certainly not for CHF180/night. Even though it is located right on lake Geneva it has the feel of a seedy train station hotel in a large European city, complete with gambling machines, a cigarette vending machine, large screens set to lottery results, day-drinking men and overfull ashtrays. Breakfast was included but not very good considering, again, the price tag. In the room, the shower head and the head holder didn't match so you couldn't actually take a shower. I am not critiquing for the construction work, since that could happen anywhere.
The room was clean and large enough. The beds were comfortable and the staff was helpful. They remembered to put a baby bed in the room.

Great location facing the lake. Staff v helpful and found us a spot to store our bikes safely (no dedicated storage otherwise). Appreciated the fan in the room ( hotel does not have A/C).

SwitzerlandIt was quite noisy in the hallway. A family with two childern very early in the mornig -ongoing. But that isn't the fault of the hotel. Just bad isolation, I guess... or quite disrespectful guests. I had to clear something at the end of our stay and it was really difficult to get in contact with a staff member who could help.
Perfect place/location to be. Lovely restaurant just opposite the hotel. Nice walkway at the waterfront.

United KingdomDidn’t get the room we booked or paid for. Room description said we had a patio, we were given a shoe box sized room with no patio or balcony. Was not anywhere near how it looked in the pictures. Really expensive for what we got. Breakfast was not good. A croissant & roll already left out on the table so nice and stale then you can get cheese slice and yoghurt from the fridge, pretty poor. Restaurant and bar were not built yet. Would not recommend or return.

United KingdomAsked before arriving if there was a car park told there was , when got there wasn't allowed to use it so had to park bikes on road, no fans in rooms, had to leave windows open very noisy and busy road all night, wouldn't recommend in summer months.
