There wasn't anything I didn't like!

I absolutely loved the owners. They were so kind and let me borrow their walking sticks and sunscreen. They also made amazing hiking recommendations. My room was adorable, so cozy, and clean! I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, beautiful views, and the complimentary slippers and bedside tea.

Honestly I cannot complain about anything. Wifi could be faster maybe. Honestly, for the price this place is basically close to perfect.

Breakfast was lovely. Just what you would need and nice and fresh and clean and cute eating area. The staff could not be more helpful and lovely. The location is so good. Really close to the high street and a maximum of 10 mins to walk to any lift or as short as 3-4 minutes depending on where you go. Got picked up from station and driven to hotel. There is a takeaway and many restaurants literally 30 seconds away. I stayed in what I am guessing is the smallest room in the entire place. A tiny one bed room. But even this was adequate and clean and all I needed for a ski trip.

Romantica was great. Our hosts Thor and Michele were very accommodating and made us feel so welcome during our stay. Breakfast was a treat every morning before we hit the slopes and we loved the hotel dog and cat (Kimmie and Mousey)!

The location was perfect. In the centre of Zermatt so very easy to find everywhere. The breakfast was so good with local products used. Our room was extremely comfortable and clean. We were greeted by Michelle who was extremely helpful.

Exceptionally friendly and helpful stuff, folks are super nice! They helped us with all the questions and reservations we asked. Our room we stayed was pretty small, but it was organized very well and lack of space was not felt at all after a day or so. Even the hotel is close to the main street, but the room was quiet even with our window facing the village and folks celebrating something in a bar nearby. Couple more things to know: - the walk to/from the train station was approx 5-7 min for us - the walk from the main street to the hotel is only 40-50 meters, but somewhat steep uphill. With few pieces of luggage it can be a micro workout. We were fine, but for maybe older people with more luggage hotel provided shuttle or taxi might be a better option. - breakfast was starting at 7:30, on our last day we had to leave at 6:00 and Michelle insisted to give us the breakfast to go - the breakfast was great, the local cheese was amazing and also somewhat unusual, the yogurt was just magnificent, fresh croissants every day, 2-3 homemade jams Overall, that was a fantastic 6 days, can’t say enough good things about the place, the stuff and also 2 furr assistants

I liked it all

The hotel is charming. Thor and Michelle are excellent hosts and could not do enough. Breakfast was delicious. The bar was very cosy. Our room was immaculate and super quiet. We will return.

Location of hotel can’t be beat. Breakfast was very good. Hosts Michelle and Thor were so helpful and interesting to speak with. Wonderful family business - traditional and one of the best hotels we have stayed in Europe.

Clean, Cute, Cozie with amazing staff / owners. Free shuttle service from the train. Once your there your in the heart of the city, it’s a 2 minute walk to the best restaurants and a quick easy walk to the ski access areas.

The ceiling in the bathroom of the loft junior suite is a bit low resulting in some weird squatting showering.

Relaxing quiet hotel, highly recommended for couples that want a nice getaway. Owners are very attentive and caring. Be sure to ask them for the daily skiing and weather suggestions as they have the kind of insight you get from living in the mountains. Breakfast is excellent. Location is also very convenient and they pick up and bring you to the train station.

The access to the hotel requires a small ascent, so a bit complicated if walking with ski boots and heavy luggage. The staff was however more than willing to help.

Very central location, close to restaurants, bars, shops, ski lifts and train station. Staff was amazing, Thor made sure everything was ready for our late arrival, he was very accommodating, friendly and available. Overall a great stay, I will definitely come back.

This is a special place, the staff/ owners take excellent care and pride in their accommodations. Thor greeted us with a smile and will answer all your questions and give pleasant recommendations for places to visit. The in house breakfast is fantastic and the atmosphere is unmatched. The Romantica is family owned and it shows! So happy to stay here and would recommend this place to anyone.

It was perfect.

Absolutely fantastic staff running a hotel that had been in the family for a a long time. The owners were lovely and had so much knowledge to share. Loved the delicious breakfasts, and the cozy feel. It was also very close to the Main Street, without the busy feel of a large hotel on the Main Street. We stayed in one of the cabins, which was very cozy and a special experience (although my brother who is 6 ft 4” might not have enjoyed the cabin as much!)

The room was very spacious for Europe. The location was great as the hotel is located right near the town center. The ski lifts were not a long walk to get to and the hotel provides complimentary transportation to and from the train station. In addition, the included breakfast is a great perk for early morning ski sessions.

Close to everything, cozy, unpretentious. What a wonderful experience, something we will always remember. Highlighted by the amazing staff, including the friendly host dog and cat! We unfortunately suffered an unexpected travel disruption due to an illness, and they worked with us to find a solution. Could not have asked for anything more. So special!

Everything was perfect, like a dream! This is truly a hidden gem. Best location in Zermatt: super central, steps away from the main road but isolated from the noise; walking distance to the train station but also easy to get to by electric taxi (also provided by the hotel itself). Easy and smooth late check in after the reception had closed. Convenient ski room. Incredible hospitality! This family-run hotel is one of a kind and straight out of a Disney movie! It's so cute, well kept and well decorated, superbly managed, and truly feels like a home stay. Incredible value, too!

Everything is perfect

Thor and Michele are incredibly welcoming hosts; we'd jump at the chance to visit again. The couple, along with their charming cat and dog, create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior is not only cozy but also beautifully adorned for the Christmas season. Breakfast, reminiscent of a hotel spread, featured everything one could desire: juices, coffee, hot chocolate, and a variety of hot courses like bacon, sausages, scrambled and boiled eggs. The selection extended to fresh fruits, breads, and delectable croissants, often served warm from the oven. Conveniently located in the city center, the hotel offers easy access to numerous restaurants and bars. Thor's recommendations led us to some fantastic spots. The proximity to all three gondolas, just a 10-minute walk away, makes the hotel an ideal hub. While city taxis and shuttle buses are available, we preferred leisurely strolls through streets lined with shops and cafes. Despite a late arrival, Thor provided detailed instructions for obtaining the keys and ensured a smooth check-in. His thoughtful gesture of complimentary pick-up and drop-off at the railway station made the stay even more enjoyable, sparing us from lugging our luggage.
