Bathroom could have been bigger, about 1/3 the size of our bathroom on our Avalon cruise.

Room was comfortable and cheerful, good closet spaces, breakfast was very good, and the location to old town was perfect. But the real difference was the staff. They could not have been more helpful and friendly, especially Elmira and the lovely man who worked with her. First the welcome drink with snacks, good maps, and best was the Free BaselCard - AND the bus stop was right in front of the hotel which takes you directly to the train station where you can pick up a tram and go anywhere any direction, great for getting out of the city.

Bathroom including toilet is pretty small. Access is through a gliding door. Not much room to turn around or wash. The windows of my room were towars a densely circulated road so opening the window, there was traffic noise. Air condition seem to be available in the room but I could not find out how it works. For me the temperature was too high and I have not slept well. Arriving late in the night, I did not get the wifi connection data and had to connect through my phone which came to me at additonal cost.

The room was clean. There is an elevator to reach the room. The location is not far away from the city center. Late check-in is possible but you have to talk to the hotel when arriving later than 22:00. Until 2AM then arrivals should be possible. The hotel provides tourists the "Basel Card" which gives you reduced access to museums and free public transportation which I gladly used when I was too tired to walk. Parking is available in the nearby subterran parking "Steinen" and you can stop right in front of the hotel to unload your luggage. Parking "Steinen" will cost you 25 CHF even if you stay, like I did, just from 1 AM to 2 PM which are not exactly 24h but 13h. There is no possibility to park the car outside as all places need a parking ticket. - Mon - Sat: 00.00 – 08.00 Uhr CHF 1.00 / hour 08.00 – 19.00 Uhr CHF 3.00 / Std. 19.00 – 24.00 Uhr CHF 2.00 / Std. - Sun: 00.00 – 24.00 Uhr CHF 1.00 / Std. - Day flat: (24 Std.): CHF 25.00

The room was located next to the reception. It was still quiet, although if people laughed loudly I could hear it in the room.

Very nice welcome and helpful staff. The small room was indeed small but perfect for a solo traveler, for a short stay - there was everything that's needed. Good sound proofing. The breakfast was great.

Great welcome from reception staff. Appreciated the first drink from the small bar was free. Liked the space where coffee and snacks could be enjoyed at any time of the day - again included within the price. The staff at reception and inn the breakfast area were kind and helpful. Really enjoyed breakfast - the soaked oats with fruit, the fresh wholemeal bread, the range of local cheeses and the cold vegetable buffet. Also appreciated the coffee machine in our charming standard room with free coffees and milks. Location excellent for central Basel and transport links, especially to the airport.

We loved everything about this hotel. It's very central, easy to walk around the historic centre from there. The atmosphere in the hotel is very relaxing. The room is very comfortable and we appreciated the double glazing very much: the whole hotel was extremely quiet during our stay. Breakfast in the beautiful bright room next to the garden is delicious and the staff in the entire premises was super friendly and helpful with us. To be honest, it exceeded our expectations.
