Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesOur bathroom's light was broken. Staff members brought brand new bulbs, but the problem was the fixture, so we had to shower and use the toilet with the door open and with our phone flashlights. The hike to the property was mostly on narrow roads with no sidewalks, which felt dangerous. The messages on booking.com were not monitored on the weekend.
The staff were incredible. Although very few speak English, all of them went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms (and the entire place) were perfectly clean, the views are absolutely stunning, and the restaurant has high quality food. Stettlen is a gorgeous town, and some of us enjoyed the 2km uphill hike from the train station. We were quickly provided with extra pillows, blankets, and towels, and they even let us use their laundry.

Breathtaking area if you like the Swiss countryside, half an hours drive from Bern. Has a very good restaurant with the most friendly staff I've ever encountered. I hope to visit again.

GermanyUnfortunately, the stay itself wasn't very pleasant and the list of things, that did not meet my expectations is long: - no wifi password available -> need to ask staff for it, so it was entered in my phone instead of handing me over any type of password for my devices. - wifi stability was very bad, one bar or nothing. The only way to use it was by walking around in the room - noisy room, you can hear anything that is happening in front of the window, guests are eating till late at night and its never quiet, neighbor's room was very talkative until late at night (2am). - no towels available in the room - no room service or cleaning ( I stayed several nights and no one came by to clean to room, or take garbage out) - very lovely looking lights in front of the window, unfortunately, no blending curtains to make the room dark, so the lights were annoying - lots of mosquitos in the room due to no protection in front of the window (and the lights in front of it). That was a real issue since it was super hot (above 30 degrees) and there was a need to open the window, which meant a thousand mosquito bites. This I will remember for quite a while now ... - breakfast times are only from 7-9 - no buffet for breakfast, no free choice of food, instead you will be served a plate with their choice of cheese and meat and bread. Never had flatbread for breakfast nor the choice to choose any type of bread. Unfortunately, I am vegetarian and got lovely looking meat on my plate, which is not nice and not appreciated at all. Three different choices of meat, three pieces of cheese and a very jam. A man might have not been satisfied with this little amountof food. - the bed is very hard and I had not one restful sleep in it - you have to walk through the restaurant to get to your room. There was a side door, which I only found by accident because I was wondering why I got 2 keys. The staff did not mention it.
The Gasthof has an amazing location, almost on top of a hill, the view is just incredible, you can see the Alps in such a wonderful way, I really liked it a lot. The staff is friendly. The room and bathroom facilities were very clean. Especially the shared bathroom was unexpectedly clean. I believe it was cleaned more than once a day, which was really appreciated. Even though the list is long with things that did meet my expectations and I would not consider staying here again, please note that the staff was very friendly and nice. And it is for sure a nice place for a shorter term, e.g. for a night.

Location. Is great, the view to the mountains is WOW... The host very friendly and helpful. Beautiful place. Food and drinks choices are excellent.
