I would have liked some small supplies like small milk for coffee on arrival. Also a comfortable couch to relax in. We couldn't close one of the blinds in the bedroom as battery was flat.

The location was good, near bus route etc. Also near the beautiful Spalentor old gate. I loved that street with all the interesting shop windows. Flat was roomy and well appointed.

No soap. Since there is a coffee machine it would be nice to have some coffee in the apartment to make. However, this didn’t ruin the overall good impression.

It would be nice to add some basic things for cooking at the kitchen: like salt, sugar.

The appartment is quite spacious, well equipped and decorated with style. There is nice balcony with the garden view. Check-in process was well explained and easy. The host is very attentive to the guests needs and respond quite fast. Definitely can recommend staying here!

The washing machine isn’t in the apartment as expected. It’s a shared apartment block laundry room.

Having to microwave and frying pan in the kitchen will add more value. Floor mats in the kitchen and bathroom can help keep the house clean and dry. Clear and detailed instruction on collecting keys is helpful (I could not locate keys and had to call the owner. But retrospectively, I know it is well placed and easy to locate, I did not catch the instruction). The building is at the backside of the main road with a small entry road, need to see carefully to locate it.

The apartment has a clean, refurbished bathroom and toilet; soap/shampoo, and towels were available. The kitchen is tiny and nice with basic facilities. Having a coffee machine with coffee capsules and creamer was a lovely gesture. Tea was also available! The oven and cooking facilities were beneficial, we could cook a few times for children. A small balcony with a table and chair with greenery outside was nice for relaxing with a coffee. Nice interior decorations with small plants and comfortable beds to sleep in. The host was easily reachable, responsive, and supportive, which made us feel nice. Bus number 30 is a few minutes walk and takes you to the main Basel railways station. Many tourist attractions are nearby, such as Basel Zoo, the main city, the town hall, the natural history museum, etc where we could walk (10-20 minutes walk) with children. Overall it was a nice stay for a family of 4 with two young children.

The host was not helpful. We had to ask on how to get our Basel Card and was told they already sent it to us … 6 months ago. Instructions on the apartment and check in would have been helpful just before arrival. The laundry was in the basement with no instructions on how to use the machines. Also had to sign up to use them, as they were shared with residents of the building. Blind on one of windows did not work. Host said we should charge the battery ourselves! Coffee maker did not work.

The second bed was a thin piece of foam on the floor in the same bedroom as the main bed (which was also uncomfortable). The photos may fool you to thinking this is a 2 bed apartment. We have severely bad backs after sleeping on the floor for 3 nights, the foam was so thin we could feel the hard wood underneath us which significantly affected our ability to enjoy our stay. We asked the host to rectify this, but all they suggested was booking their bigger apartment for full price and did not offer compensation. We had random people knocking on our door every day? Drunk confused guests from the apartment upstairs and unknown people (we stopped answering the door) There was no kettle I would recommend the host purchase a sofa bed as there is plenty of room for this, and make photos very clear of the sleeping set up on booking.com to ensure travellers are not disappointed in future.

The apartment was close to the city centre, about a 15 minute walk. It was fairly clean but the chairs were dirty when the seating pads were removed. The host was responsive. This property would be ideal for 1 or 2 people, it is spacious.
