Location, cleanliness and facilities at the apartment

Stairs at front made it difficult to get heavy bags up and down. Washing machine is communal and coin operated and instructions only in German so couldn’t use so we ended up washing a few items in the sink and using heated towel rails to dry in bathroom. We were there almost two weeks and didn’t get any servicing or fresh linen. We got some fresh towels after asking. I think if guests are staying more than a week a mid stay clean and fresh linen should be provided. I would suggest a small booklet be written for guests to provide info re things like where the garbage bins are and where the bus line is etc - that would be very useful

Very comfortable for two people. The kitchen is a full working kitchen with everything you need to cook meals. Nice view overlooking trees across the street. Comfortable bed. Has a storage room for skis/boards and drying room for ski boots. Also has a small lift however there are a set of steep stairs at the front. There is a washing machine but it’s coin operated. Owner is very nice and location is good - about a 15 min walk from train station and into town but the green line free bus stops just up the street. Wifi is fast and place is very warm. We didn’t need to use the heating at all and in fact had some windows open at night even in mid January. We really enjoyed our stay. Balcony is very nice and I believe is larger than it looks in the photos. We would stay here again.

Plenty of room for a studio apartment. Much nicer than many we have stayed in the past. Well stocked kitchen, friendly and responsive host, wonderful view of the Matterhorn and Glacier Paradise mountain area.

Insufficient toilet paper was provided for the length of our stay, so we had to buy our own. I would suggest providing additional rolls in case guests require it, particularly for longer stays.

Amazing view out the window, lovely touch with Swiss chocolates to welcome us and the Christmas themed decor during our December stay. Spacious, very clean, light and airy. Kitchen fully equipped with oven, dishwasher, stove, fondue set and crockery etc. Great location and will definitely be staying again if we visit Zermatt in the future. Handy having access to the washing machine - bring your own laundry detergent.

Best to write the owner prior to arrival asking how to get in, because otherwise you'll have to figure it out. There is a coin operated laundry room that you can find.

A excellent location, with an east facing balcony above the river on the south (upper) end of town; you hear the river and the sun rises in your window. And has a kitchen.

We didn't know that laundry area was in the building until our last day as it wasn't written in English anywhere, would've been great to know earlier but not a huge deal.

Beautifully appointed apartment with a well equipped kitchen, pleasant balcony area overlooking the river, comfortable bed with the typical flat pillows we've encountered throughout Europe. Washing machine located downstairs, short walk to the restaurants in Zermatt village and very conveniently located next to the main gondola and nearby hiking trails. No view of the Matterhorn from inside the apartment but you can see it from right in front of the building. It was very helpful that all the relevant maps for both walking trails and getting around the village are provided for your convenience.

Great location in Zermatt, with a view of the Matterhorn. Well stocked kitchen for longer stays. The host even left us some Swiss chocolates on arrival!

The location is so central and is within walkable distance to restaurants, shops and Train station. The place is so well planned / thought out that we didn't find anything missing. Kitchen is so well equipped as if it was done for one's own house kitchen. Hats off to the owner Mr. Imesch for taking good care of his guests. Hope to visit again.

The area ws a little high up. Gets very annoying to walk to with ski boots and ski equipment. Would highly recommend taking a taxi or the bus.

The place was very nice. Had all we needed and couldn't complain about anything. The view when we woke up was incredible. Only issue with the view was that bad weather may ruin it.

All was perfect

Host provided us with all the information we needed. The apartment is just perfect! Kitchen contains everything one needs. The bed is comfortable, bathroom and terrace are excellent. Location is incredible for skiers. Locker for skies is provided as well as heating for ski boots

The studio is exceptionally clean and well appointed. If one is planning to ski — this is the perfect location! I have stayed in zermatt before near the train station in the busier part of town - however after my experience at this property, I am convinced staying on this further side of town offers superior ski access and does not require any walking through town in ski boots or boarding crowded buses.

Things that could be improved on: - Better communications on how the check in process is like (I was expecting a reception so it took a while for us to find where the host left the keys for us) - Host takes a while to reply messages so just be patient :)

Location was great with a view of the Matterhorn. Apartment was clean, spacious, homely and complete with kitchen and cooking facilities. 10/10 would stay here again. Highly recommended!

The best apartment ever, in perfect location 100 . .meters from the , Mattarhorn cabel car. Easy to get by walking to the center. Beautiful view of mountain s around.

I just hoped there was a washing machine. It is very useful when one stays for consecutive days and needs to wash up clothes

We liked pretty much everything! We could see the Matterhorn from our veranda and that made us so happy. The house was just splendid and very beautifully arranged. It had almost all modern facilities that we needed. The host was a very understanding and helpful person and that made our stay so convenient. If we go to Zermatt again, I think we would try to book this apartment yet again, of course I will recommend to everyone.

Haus sonnheim is located about 5 minutes outside the main strip of zermatt..with easy access to ski lifts for furri..and klein matterhorn..my apartment was big and spacious and top class condition..a nice balcony to sit with a coffee and to watch the world go by with great views...our trip was very successful and highly recommed thus apartment...the owner leo is a gentleman ...

Where do I start. We stayed in the Winter and the central heating was barely working. It was always cold and we could not get the small apartment warm enough ever. The bathroom is tiny, there isn’t enough space to move in the shower, the pillows were old, smelly, worn out and flat like they had no filling in them and they were prickly with stuff coming out of them as they are falling apart, the blankets were horrible and old. There was only one set of towels which wasn’t enough for our stay. The TV had no Netflix, or English movie options. We could only watch German, Swiss or Italian shows. There was no shampoo, conditioner or body wash for male and female provided. The place generally felt dirty and we couldn’t wait to get out of there. It was definitely not worth the money. The building itself was also dark and dingy and the washing machines had to be paid for which is on a separate level right next to a massive creepy vault door that had wooden jail chambers inside. Very scary and we didn’t want to use the wash room because of it. The host was also not friendly. Even though this 1 star apartment was paid for, we were told by the host to watch our use of energy, even though we paid top dollar for a crappy room.
