How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I don't think there's anything missing in this hotel.
The hotel was simply gorgeous. The room was spacious, pristine and really confortable. it was very close to the city center and yet in a quite zone. The service was over our expectations: the staff was very kind and offered additional services which we didn't even thought could be included (gorgeous parking service, free pass for trasport in the city, a free bottle of water when leaving the hotel in the morning, etc.)

Small bathroom. No big deal just something to get used to.
The best scenic walk ever from a train station to a hotel. It's along the lake with great views of the city, the Alps, and the famous wooden bridge. Excellent breakfast wiith individually made eggs and premium tea served in a tea pot. The beatiful breakfast room has these gaint bay windows facing a picture prefect serence garden. Giving off Japanese graden vibes, when it was raining. Shout out to the attentive and helpful staff. I could sit there for hours. If you want to start writing the Great American Novel, this is it.

Boutique Hotel. Nice spacious room with separate kitchenette. Good location close to Alstadt and lake promenade with bus stop exactly at door. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed.

There is not a single bad thing that could be said.
Wonderful location with a city bus stop across the street. The hotel gives you a city pass which is good for travel on the bus and some train travel. Hotel rooms are large and immaculately clean. Staff is incredibly nice. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. One of the best hotels we’ve stayed at!

It’s old. You can’t change that so good luck finding an outlet, you’ll have to unplug a light.

I didn’t like the fact that when i reach my level, i have to walk up the stairs few steps before i reach my room. The stairs was quite uneven in size. My 4 years old son fall and rolled over few steps down on the very first day.
I love the location of the hotel. Quite close to many attractions. The size of my room quite big and super comfortable. The breakfast is marvellous!!!

the road is a bit busy
Very well located, and one of the rare hotels accepting pets The staff at the reception was very servicefull and agreable. the option for parking was also a great relief as parking the surroundings is very regulated. Very nice breakfast buffet and location very close to the lake were it was great to walk my dog after a long journey.

It's a bit of a walk from the main sites. but not to make you feel ostracized (about 10 minutes). Just feels further as it is a very small old town. Very close from sleeping lion and one of the Churches.
Staff we dealt with were a joy. Room was ok, quiet. Bathroom with very good quality toiletries. The restaurant was very good. Breakfast included was great as well. They give you a pass so you can go for free in all city transport. We didn't use it. it was easy to walk around everywhere.
