Unlike front part like restaurant and lobby, rooms are more "chubby chic eighties vibe", especially bathroom. Pillows are too cheap. Kitchenette same. 2 stars. But location makes you forget all those shortcomings.

Location perfect, paradise. Staff is nice and kind. Lobby and interior of hotel is stylish and made with care, nice details. Breakfast is solid, just enough of choice (but no veggies or variations of eggs).

I suggest to renew the pillows. Also our room was supposed to have a lake view but unfortunately the view was blocked because our room was in the back side.

We had an excellent stay. The hotel is perfect for families with children, there is a playroom underneath the restaurant to allow for a quiet dinner among adults. Staff is very friendly, the rooms and facilities are very clean. Always a please to stay at Hostellerie Schwarzsee

The hotel and staff were amazing. The location was excellent and the view of the lake was out of this world! The room was huge, very comfortable and the children loved having their very own space.

Great place! Amazing location. Good facilities. Very helpful staff. Ideal for the family stays. Nice swimming pool. There is a big kids room to play at the restaurant while parents are enjoying dinner or any other meal. Good quality restaurant.

The hotel is a bit old but well maintained and if you're not driving then it is a little difficult to get to as you need to take a train to Fribourg and then a 50 mins bus to Schwarzsee. The breakfast was a bit sparse and could have more on offer.

The location of this hotel is fantastic as it looks over the lake and is set in a tranquil quiet village surrounded by mountains and greenery. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, the rooms are very big and comfortable and the food is amazing.

The overn was not working in the kitchen in the room. And we needed it. It's Switzerland, so, quite expensive.

Location. The Lake. Just wow. Stunning views, especially in the morning. Amasing hiking around the lake up in the mountains. Lot's of entertainment for the whole family. The hotel staff did their best to make us feel comfortable. E.g. offered us to serve tea outside at the lake, when we wanted to be out and enjoy the nature after dinner. We were with kids and renting the boats for a ride on the lake was a a nice free entertainment for them. We had a family room with two bedrooms on the 3rd floor with a balcony and mountain view - very spacious, clean and comfortable. Big enough to have a dinner for 7 persons, which we enjoyed with our friends one evening. As a tip: there's a barbecue place with great views up in the mountain (there's only one telecabine as far as I understand). So buy everything for BBQ and go up there for BBQ lunch - great place.

I didn't like that the dining facility accepted orders until 20.30 for dinner. We were forced to go to another hotel to dine. I never got to appreciate the "degustation" of the chef's menu. As a travel professional, I would recommend a 21.30 cutoff for residents.

Lovely view on the Lake. If I had known that this was an apartment with a full kitchen, I would have prepared meals there. The staff were incredible. I am very familiar with Schwarzsee as my ancestors were from here and I have spent many a summer holiday on the lake. The view from the balcony was breathtaking and the sounds of cow bells and mountain silence, brought me "home". There is a sense of gemutlichkeit . Upon leaving the hotel the staff presented us with a gift of homemade honey. What a lovely touch!
