How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Breakfast that is included is relatively small, I've never been a big breakfast kinda of a guy so I didn't mind it, but its worth mentioning. The AC wasn't working properly, it wasn't cooling and operating normally.
The Staff are extremely friendly, like they might be the friendliest people I've met. The Room and the facilities are very clean and comfy. The breakfast is simple, they give you not too much not too little. Location is close to the train station, and not too far from Central area.

I thought the bed mattress was a bit firm and could have been more comfortable.
The hotel is well located, and a short walk from the Central train station, where there are also quite a few eateries. The room was small, but well appointed and the staff were very helpful to all my needs.

No provision for a bed coffee in the room.
The location is great, walkable from main station. The hotel has an antique touch and we loved it. The staff, especially at the reception, are very nice.

The bed was comfortable but the head of the bed was next to the desk with a slight overhang making it difficult to sit up in bed.
Good location, small room but comfortable, continental breakfast served at the table. No need to get up as for buffet breakfasts. Good dejection of channels on the Tv.

The property is older and looked a little tired but it was comfortable and reasonably priced considering the cost of accommodation in Zurich.
Very helpful receptionist. Continental breakfast was good, cheeses, egg, bread rolls. It is located a few minutes from the main station and a wonderful museum. Also a few minutes from the departure points for a river cruise, tourist bus and main shopping street.

Staff is ok but not incredibly courteous. "Just ok" The room key is old fashion. A real key with a heavy key chain that you'll leave clearly at the front desk. For those who value privacy and their desire to go to and from the room without the need to interact with the front desk, might not be a good fit again They made the room, which consisted on making the bed and changing the towels( only one towel in single rooms but they had no trouble giving me more) in the 5min while I was at breakfast. Efficient, but personally I prefer to let them know when they can enter my room. Not just when they want early in the morning. Personal preference
Good for 1 to 2 night stays Pros: great location close to train station and old town, as well as the river. Pleasant surprises are A/C and moni bar ( mini fridge) in the room and actual cleanliness of the facility. Cons: breakfast is definitely inedible and poor. Only a tasteless croissant and two bread rolls, a booked egg and plastic wrapped cheeses. No buffet like any other hotel in the world. They clearly reuse what others don't eat, since I basically got the same plate a previous guest used end left everything there ( like I did), a little gross. They charge for basic omelets. For Americans standards but not European standards the single room is very very small. Tiny bed. If you are tall, you won't fit. .

The room was quite hot after a sudden increase in external temperature and there didn’t seem to be a fan or air conditioning ( but I didn’t ask the manager as I was too tired!).
This is a family- run small hotel. Excellently situated in a quiet street close to the main railway station. Very friendly service. I appreciated the gluten free toast at breakfast.
