How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We had the Junior Suite - huge room with a spa and windows opening to a balcony. Breakfast was included and very nice. And not very busy so it was very quiet.

there was no lift in the building so with a small child and a stroller it was a challenge to climb narrow staircases all the way to the 2nd floor
clean, great bathroom, thoughtful management and a very convenient location!

The facility is a bit old where some parts of the room such as bath room was renovated.
There is an espresso machine in the room. It is an average restaurant hotel with decent breakfast and an option for traditional dinner. The hotel is quite calm during my stay.

We had to wait 20 minutes just for the check-in because there was nobody in the reception.
Room was big, clean and quiet. The hotel is in a good location and the breakfast is very good.

I recently stayed at Hotel Bären Suhr and had a wonderful experience. The hotel offers free parking, making it convenient for travelers with vehicles. Located in a peaceful area. The staff were friendly and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant stay. With its reasonable prices, it offers excellent value for money, especially for short stays. Although it's a bit outside the city, it's easily accessible by car. Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Bären Suhr for a comfortable and budget-friendly stay.

The check in process in the absence of front desk staff was extremely confusing, especially at the end of a 250 mile drive from France. It wasn't very clear how to exchange (once obtained, which again required the written instructions) the front doir key for your room key. Luckily one of the restaurant staff was able to help, or I'd have been sitting in the lobby from 4.30pm until 7pm (check in opens then). Also, to obtain hotel information in the room required a smart phone (which I don't have) to use QR code.
Very nice room, with lots of space, lovely bathroom fittings, very comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. And breakfast was excellent. And the front desk had spare electrical adapters for use with the room sockets, which I hadn't realised are different from the French ones.

I was informed there was an event that evening and no one will be on reception from 4:30pm- the day before my arrival...when I got to the hotel I saw another poster stating that the event will be until late and I could get earplugs from reception...which was closed? Anyway...the room was small but clean and on the first floor just right off reception...little did I know the event was basically right ontop of my room! It felt like the party was in my room! No earplugs would have helped! I was kept awake until after 2am as the staff were moving all the tables and chairs back into place! Not the room you want to be in when there's an event! I had to be up and out of the hotel by 7:30am so I did not have time for a sit down breakfast...So I requested a vegetarian breakfast takeaway- which was prepared and looked great, until I noticed they put meat on my sandwich?! Luckily breakfast was already prepared and I could grab a coffee (from the machine down the hall as the breakfast rooms coffee machine was not working?!) and a quick pastry... Maybe when there's an event- my recommendation would be to not put anyone in the rooms directly below the event room, because it was truly a very unpleasant experience! Also...if someone says their vegetarian- it means no meat!

no lift, no one to carry heavy suitcase up the steep stairs into third floor. old carpets with stains. muffly air. very warm rooms. if you open the windows to cool down you have very noisy streets. no great breakfast. value for money is terrible. don’t book a room in Switzerland, rather book in neighbouring Germany. everything is so expensive and then the quality is poor. there is a huge life size bear in the entrance. but this bear is a sad sight. it must be quite old. but no one bothers to clean, repair and fix him….. and this example stands for the whole hotel….. very disappointing…..

Very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast is also excellent. Please note that there is no lift if you have large luggage.
