Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe breakfast setting had changed from the grand hall to the cafe, which is actually an improvement as it was more intimate. The lack of hot breakfast options remains a downside, though there is plenty of bread, hams and cheeses.
The hotel is located in a quiet surroundings with lots of greenery and nature. The views of the Alps remain breathtaking. The building and its immediate surrounding architecture is very pleasant to be around. The staff are incredibly friendly and enormously helpful, as they had been during previous stays.

United StatesCant think of anything !
Beautiful setting with the Suisse Alps as background. Quaint atmosphere being in a former monastery turned education and retreat center. Food in the little cafe-restaurant excellent. Definitely would stop there again if in the neighborhood.

FranceBreakfast was almost entirely cold - bread, preserved meats, cheese, yogurt and cereal. One might expect the usual eggs, bacon or sausages to be served but this is not the case. Rooms are quite Spartan - it has the bare essentials but no TV, refrigeration or air conditioning.
Location is beautiful with stunning views of a Swiss countryside and the Alpine ranges visible in the far horizon. A very peaceful atmosphere. Staff are incredibly friendly, polite and helpful. The café offers good, wholesome refreshments and snacks throughout the day.

SpainEverything was fine. Rooms are perfect (no TV, it is a monastery, no claims). Bar is fine... From last year, they have place a net in the windows against mosquitos... perfect. Perhaps, the sound fo the cars passing by is the only "no perfect" aspect. Lots of places, rooms, places to get lost...

GermanyIt was a hot period and it would have been nice to have a fan or AC in the room.
Great staff and cozy rooms with modern bathroom. Nice atmosphere in the hotel and on the terrace at night. Can certainly recommend this place.

RussiaThe room was super basic, towels a bit worn out, air inside the room was humid and a bit smelly. Breakfast was very basic without any warm dish options, not even eggs, no sweets. Of course, nice cakes they make are only available in the cafe for additional price. The hotel has several nice terraces but breakfast was served in a dark and not so nice hall. Having dinner in the hotel the day of arrival was not possible (we were told you have to book in the morning which is before the check-in time), the closest restaurant is only reachable by car and happened to be fully booked, then we had to drive again to find another one, so getting food was a real nightmare. Check-out before 10.00 is a bit extreme too.
Nice scenery and ambiance of the old monastery, calm and beautiful, nice terrace if you want to have a cake in their cafe (at extra cost). English-speaking staff.

United KingdomNo fridge, TV, or fan in the room. if you opened the window you could hear the road noise so not ideal. in the summer it was rather stuffy with the windows closed. Breakfast was simple, but adequate.

lovely grounds on the old monastery, tastefully converted to hotel. modern although basic amenities. a little off the beaten track but great if you don't like chain hotels.

DenmarkThe only annoying thing was the flies from the nearby cows, and the breakfast was very basic.
Very peaceful and quiet - lot's of great places to walk around such as fields with cows and small gardens. Do not be scared of the "Kloster" name.
