Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Francethe room was very nice. The evening meal was very good, although I found it a bit pricey. The road below is quite busy. The breakfast good. Overall it went well. The parking lot is very large. Pity that there is no shelter for motorcycles 😜

United StatesI had a package sent to the hotel for my travels. I had forgotten to ask for it at check-in. The next morning, there were some language issues explaining what was needed. Eventually, the chef drove over on their morning off to retrieve my package from a locked office. It was kind of them but took some extra time from my day. It was mostly my fault.
Staff was very helpful. Dinner was great, dessert was fantastic. Room was clean. Had everything I needed. Even though my room was above the dining room I couldn't hear any noise and the patio and road weren't even loud with the window cracked open.

SwitzerlandAlso, when people do not have cars, and are travelling by train, one is left with the only option of walking from Giswil to your place, which is about a 30 minute walk. On a hot day, with extra things to carry, it is really not the best way to arrive at your destination. Perhaps you can think of a solution where you can coordinate a shuttle, at least once a day, or offer to have a taxi available at a certain time, just once a day. Your check in times could coordinate with these pick up times. The cost of a taxi is only twenty francs, but if it shared with others, it is not a big or extra expense. It adds a lot to the overall experience.
The breakfast unfortunately did not match together with the dinner the night before in the restaurant. I was quite disappointed that there was no buffet, and that food items were just brought to the table without asking us what we wanted, such as the cold meat and cheese plate. And coffee could have been brought in a small carafe, with real milk as well. There was no fresh fruit or yogurt either. Also, I do not understand why they asked what time we would like breakfast the night before. People wake up when they wake up. It is not a private home; it's a hotel, and the breakfast times are listed on the prospect. The staff was an hour late. When it says 7am, someone needs to be there at that time, customers or not. The bread, and buns were not very fresh, or they really need to find a new bakery. I am very fussy as I cook a lot at home, so my standards are quite high, but one pays almost 200Fr. for a small room, so the breakfast which is included is important to get right. If you want to continue in this way, offer a lower room price, and make breakfast extra, so people can choose, and make it clear what is on offer before. Most people like to start their day with a healthy and substantial breakfast, especially when travelling. I had asked about having some eggs, but after saying she would ask ,the subject was not brought up again. While eating breakfast, another gentleman told me that he was also disappointed. I really think you need to make some positive changes. It reflects a lot on the overall experience. I enjoyed the night away, but would not come again, or really recommend the place to others. Constructive criticism will improve your sales.

KuwaitNo Elevator....and nothing much to explore in the Surrounding areas of the hotel. Breakfast was good....but I guess limited Crossaints & Bread because of the Off Season..but thats ok. Room & Bath area was a little conjusted....elbows keep ramming into the glass door as u bathe.
I liked the Train passing by the Hotel every now and then.....not always we get to see this....and it was not a noisy train. Staff were very sweet and accommodating. It was Off Season so we brought our own food & the Hotel heated it up for us & provided us Plates 🍽 & other cutlery. Vehicle Parking area was good & empty ....again I guess because of the Off Season. The Sweetest Land lady provided us very nice soft extra Blankets on request....God Bless her Abundantly ❤.
