My booking was accepted for a twin room, but after confirming, l was told none were available and had to pay 15 CHF extra for a Lake view. Sign in toilet,, clearly say toilet paper only, but no bin, spend 5 CHF to put a bin in the toilets. Advertised as an apartment, but then you need to pay extra to hire cutlery and utensils!

Very good value for Lugano. Very helpful , friendly and responsive reception. Received Ticino travel card which is a very nice benefit

there were no cutlery, there was no garbage can in the bathroom, and it was not convenient to carry garbage to the kitchen.

The location is not far from the lake and the railway station. The room has everything you need for living. Private staff at the reception who helped.

The room had a kitchen but you have to hire pots etc - we ended up not using it but just as an fyi.

Unfortunately, the room was not that clean. There were spider webs on the ceiling and some small bugs on the celling as well. The shower towels were small.

We liked the position of the Guest House. The kitchen was nice with a kettle and a refrigerator.

There is a little kitchenette with stove inside the bedroom. In the hallway there was a certain smell that I link to cooking on such a stove. It smelled a bit like fire and this put me in cautious-mode. I think it is dangerous when people can cook in their hotel room. This made me feel a bit unsafe and I went to check emergency-exits. I do not think these are the best when something happens.

The location is perfect and parking is easy in the blue lines. For free!

In the kitchen it should be at least a pan or something similar to cook. The chairs in the kitchen are quite dangerous to fall.

No room service Mosquitos in the room (might be ours only as it was the very end room of the corridor). Veryyy poor wifi connectivity inside the room.

The AC didn’t really work so we slept with the windows open. There was a tiny bit of mold in the shower door, but nothing too terrible or that would deter from the overall experience.

The location is great, very easy to access by public transport and walking distance from the lake, plus a very nice walk to the city center. The beds were comfy, there was a well stocked coffee machine in the ground floor and little amenities in the kitchen and room.

It rather feels like you are staying at a dorm than a hotel. The name of this place is GuestHouse - so, I guess I should not have expected it to be a hotel. The distance and the hill to climb on your way back from the city often makes you think twice if you want to get out again. So, my advise would be to carry all you may need for the day and then go out and explore Lugano and return after dinner!

while the location was good, it is about a 12-15 min walk to the city center. So, be prepared for this. I loved it cos I'm a walker but my friend struggled a little. It's a beautiful walk overlooking and along the lake. I also really liked the receptionist who checked us in. She was friendly, thorough, kind and attentive. The room has a nice balcony which I requested when booking and i appreciated that a lot. There is a mini market in the gas station next door which is handy and open till 10pm.
