How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

No washing machine. Would be nice to have salt for cooking.
Nice and clean apartment with private underground parking. Self check-in with clear video and written instructions. Spacious room and bathroom. Close to the railway station. Be ready to walk down and up to the city center but it’s also possible to use a funicular. You have everything you need in the kitchen for cooking and a dish-washing machine. Good wifi. Thanks for coffee capsules and coffee machine.

- there is no air condition - the lock of comfort room is defect - my wife missed a mirror in the sleeping room
The appartment was clean and overall well equiped with modern appliances (coffee machine, dish washer, ...). It is not far from the city center (approx. 15 walking). There is comfortable space for 2 to 3 persons.

Clearer indication how to reach the apartment
Location behind the station is not ideal.to go and to come you have to use the funiculaire. The area where apartement is situated is of no interest, there is not even a small super market. The apartment itself is fully equipped, ideal gor a couple.

Couch not really comfy, and no aircon. Not being allowed use of the laundry
Quokka staff extremely accommodating, loved the location . Great instructions on how to get there, get keys and video. Would have liked to be able to use the laundry!!

The details from the owner need to adjust and put more details in PDF instruction and their Video. I spent 35 mins to look for the apartment. - I couldn't find the name of the building and had a look 3 bldgs to check. - In front of the room , they put the name different from the instruction that make me confused.
All aminities are nice and well equiped It is spacious and clean. Sofa bed is comfortable Location is good where quite close to the train station!

for some reason that I couldn’t see nderstand the google maps didn’t get us to the correct address .we came late at night and we couldn’t find it easily
the property has everything you need and the owner very friendly to support us for anything extra.

The sofa bed in the living room is not very comfortable. It's moving a lot. Somebody maybe other enter or owner left the timer at the oven and woke us up at 3am. The electric fan is very dirty and we did not use it. It's good its almost not hot anymore when we stayed there.
Its very near to the city of Lugano. The apartment is clean, calm and spacious. The kitchen materials are complete.

Kitchen equipment is very essential. No salt, oil, vinegar, etc. available.
Central but quiet location. Modern kitchen and bathroom. Coffee machine with starting set of coffee. Baby cot and highchair upon request.

We initially booked for 2 people asked about an upgrade to 3 , once we heard the price we said it’s gonna be only 2 persons. However ,later on I still got charged for an extra person even tho through the online check-in I did mention and complete forms for 2 adults only. Now it’s been around 2 weeks since I’ve been trying to contact customer service and they are airing my messages

Several broken lights. The appartment was not quite clean (e.g. bathroom bin not emptied). The hallway looks like a fight has taken place there, scratches all over the wall. In general I would say it is time to give the flat a new layer of paint.

The apartment itself is nice, but several of the lights didn't work and the shower was blocked and flooded the apartment the first time we used it. This meant we wasted a couple of hours mopping up the apartment which was not really how we wanted to spend our holiday.
The location near the station is convenient and quiet.
