We stayed in the Junior Suite and I would not really call this a Suite... rather a superior room. Also the pictures on booking are a bit misleading because there seems to be a mix of different rooms of varying sizes. We had a normally sized room plus a space with a seating area, plus a nice terrace. We were travelling with a small baby so we had hoped to maybe put our sun in a seperate space in the room but the baby bed did not fit through the door so in the end it was a bit more crammed than we had hoped. For 2 people the room is certainly very spaceous though.

Hotel smack in the middle of the old town with a great view over the lake. We came for the light festival, so it was great to be in the center and in walking distance to everything. The room was quiet and we managed to get one of the free parking spots in front of the door. Very friendly welcome, nice touch to have a free drink and a tea/coffee station available for guests. Everything was clean and the breakfast was good as well.

In the summer the restaurant is using outside space and the sound comes up easily to the rooms. So don't expect to get to sleep too early.

Wonderful location, charming rooms, welcoming staff, and view of the lake. We had a wonderful stay in the romantic gateway.

It’s an old building, you can hear your neighbour if they are inconsiderate and loud like ours were at 11pm. But that’s not the hotels fault, and these guys were ridiculously loud. It’s time to refurbish the bathroom to the same standard as the rest of the room.

While the breakfast buffet didn't look particularly appetizing at first glance, I was pleasantly surprised by the good selection of items on offer.

Location of the hotel in the middle of historic Murten, as well as the Deluxe room with comfortable bed, and nicely sized room that included a little niche with a table. Very cozy feel, and exposed stone walls, which added to the room's unique character and charm. The staff at the hotel were exceptional, always friendly and eager to help with anything I needed.

The room was too warm because the window had been shut prior to my arrival. The fan helped to cool the room, but during really warm weather it would be far worse

The decoration of the room was not like the pictures on Booking.com. We expected a more modern style. However the room was very comfortable and clean and the view was wonderful.

The view over the lake is amazing. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant serves delicious food.
