How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The internet almost didn’t work at my room, so it was a little difficult to use it - I had to stay downstairs
The room had a terrace and a nice view. It was small, but it had a mirror, a closet and some hangers so it was vomfortable. Air conditiong and heating was possible as well. The toilets and shower were clean and spacy

Socket is not foreigner friendly. You need to buy an additional gadget from supermarket to be able to work out your phone. I got the room with a balcony attached to it. Luckily, I was the only guest there during my stay. Otherwise, I might get secondhand smoke from them. Nonetheless, neighbor was a heavy smoker and I was somewhat affected with the smell that seeped into my room. If you do mind people smoking, you'd better choose your room without a balcony.
The hostel is located in the middle of old town. You can walk from your place and travel right out. Restaurant is just downstairs. Necessary facilities are provided.

The place is too loud until late evening, there is a restaurant downstairs. Rather expensive, but it's Switzerland.
Nice and clean room, located in the city center, close to the station.

The church was too loud and therefore I couldn’t sleep that well.

Wifi signal is not stable at all. Too many people share toilet and shower (evern different floors). Difficult to find the reception at the first glance. Bar/Reception is not so friendly when there are lot of guests in the bar.
Location is very good, at the ege of the old town. There are good eating option near by. Bed is comfortable.

The staff upon check-in didn't provide the wifi password.
My room was a single tiny room but has a semi-private terrace with views over the square that was beautiful. The shared bathrooms were always in good conditions.

- thin walls: if you are a sensitive sleeper, you might get woken up by the nearby church bells or commotion in the staircase. - I was okay with sharing the bathroom facilities with other guests, but not having them on the same floor was a surprise. - Check-in at the restaurant is tricky when it’s full and the servers are busy.

Before I can enter my room there is a small balcony which belongs to the booked apartment and other it's not for other guests, however it isn't locked and other guests just entered and sat there, even though they knew they weren't supposed to. Would be great if that door had a lock too. Also there is no real check-in desk, it's the poeple from the restaurant below who manage it and it was therefore a bit busy and I waited a little... That's pretty much it

Shared bathrooms are not ideal, but this was clear on the site and fair enough with the price

Accomodation price ripoff - I paid price for 2 although I stayed alone. Toilet and bath shared by 5 rooms. No breakfast.

No toilets in the bedroom. Bathrooms are shared areas. I can be loud at times.
It’s located in a beautiful piazza, very nice area with nice shops and restaurants.

Perfect little place in central location , everything in walking distance, and Andre is a lovely host who serves delicious food at the Osteria . Highly recommend this place

The staff, clean rooms and good shared facilities (toilets and one showe) and the location in the middle of the old town. We parked our Tesla in the Casino Parking (very safe and cheap overnight)
