Our room had narrow stairs going up to bed. They can be tricky going up and down.

The quiet atmosphere was great. No cars, didn't hear other guests, dinner was peaceful with great food.

    Everything's fine.

Great room (two floors connected by a steep ladder) with a picturesque view to the Fex-valley. really quiet, because it's outside of the village, situated in a small hamlet in the Valley. You can reach the hotel also by feet in about 15 minutes from the next bus station by following a beautiful track throng a canyon and over mountain meadows...so don't come with a trolley case...:-)

They charge you quite a bit for the dinner (not many alternatives around as you're bound to their shuttle service to the next town - you're not allowed to go by your own car as it's a car-free valley)

Outstanding location at the Val Fex - one of the most beautiful valleys I know. A million dollar view from the terrace where you'll have breakfast.

They first showed us to a small room in an annex building smelling of old cigarette smoke: if you go there insist on not having room 20! They knew the room was smelly because one staff member confessed later that they already shampooed the carpet three times. About carpets: our advice would be to replace with wooden floors, everywhere!

Val Fex is an exceptional place, car-free and extremely well preserved. You find yourself in a traditional alpine house: our room could have been found in the rätisches museum in Chur!

Is like a prison, no cars allowed here, they do inform you but only after booking( is usually non refundable so you can t do anything already). They have shuttle which is only pre booked few times a day and outside of these hours they charge you ridiculous amounts and very rude when you ask them.Restaurant is vegetarian only so if you not vegetarian and want to go for dinner you have to spend few hundreds just to get to main street.we said we want to go out on evening as that s why we come to st moritz and they started laughing telling me i have to walk 5kms each way…we left after first night and there many better options where you can avoid all these issues. Rooms are very outdated, staff not so polite

    Worst place we ever been

If you are looking for a quiet place to stay in the middle of a breathtakingly beautiful valley in the mountains, look no further. The room was cozy and spotless clean, the bed was very comfortable, the staff exceptionally friendly and the meals at their vegetarian restaurant absolutely delicious. All in all, a fantastic stay.

Great hotel for trekking and nature walks, not as great for young skiers wishing to know St Moritz

    • Group

The shuttle bus offered only works until 18:00 forcing you to have dinner a the hotel or greatly limiting your dinner options, they did offer an extra shuttle for 60€ but that would be maximum until 22:00 meaning if you had a dinner at 20:00 you would have to literally leave int he middle to reach the shuttle. Non sensical in my opinion. The hotel is vegetarian, thus if you are lactose intolerant prepare yourself as their morning menu is mainly composed of cheese, milk, yoghurt and all dairy products. They did offer alternative such as bread and cereal, for those non gluten the options are limited, all they had was bread. So if you are lactose intolerant and Celiac your breakfast will be reduced to either eggs, hard as rock apples or hard as rock kiwis for that is all the fruit they had. For those seeking rich in protein breakfast this is not your place.

The hotel is located in the middle of a reserved park, which for those looking to do trekking is great, for people looking to ski and get to know the area plus have dinner outside the hotel this is not the place. It is in the middle of nowhere with very limited access. The hotel staff was truly nice, you could see they wanted to please the clients and were willing to help if needed. From the boss to the shuttle driver they were all very candid and warm. Something to be appreciated.

The dinner was overpriced ($3.00 for a glass of tap water?) $14 for wine that was already off?).The staff was uninterested in trying to help me solve transportion issues. I have never been in a facility where, to a person, the staff was seemingly bored and checked out. The driver who took me back to my car at the end of the trip was the exception. No water in the room (an empty carafe) Hair dryer didn't work.

We had a few bad experiences: 1) when we checked in, the staff did not pick up that we had three rooms under my booking. She checked us in for one room and then went on to check in other customers, whilst it was obvious that we were a group of 5 people waiting together. We had to wait for the other customers to be checked in and then I asked her if there was a problem with the booking. Then she figured out her mistake. 2)The staff also made a mistake when we checked in and told us we were in half-pension (i.e. evening meal and breakfast included) . I had made this booking a while ago so I could not remember and said ok. She came back one hour later, visibly angry and told me that it was not the case and that if we wanted to have dinner at the pension we should pay the supplement for the set-menu +breakfast. I said ok for the set menu as I felt a bit pressured and could not think in the moment of finding other options, given the pension is car-free and there are no restaurants around. The breakfast was 20 francs which is expected for Switzerland but the set menu was quite expensive : 50 F 3) The set menu was vegetarian only (which was fine by us) but I therefore expected something really tasty for this price . We had a grilled half aubergine, a beetroot risotto and a baked sweet potato with a bit of fennel salad on top plus a dessert (carrot cake). Nothing was tasty except the dessert ; I honestly could have done better myself with any good vegetarian recipe book and I'm far from being a great cook. 4) After checking out, we wanted to let know the reception staff that we would take the shuttle back to the town/parking later in the afternoon. The staff member got mistaken and thought we wanted to get a lift to the town without having reserved the shuttle in advance and said we'd have to pay 30 F for it. It took 5 minutes of heated discussion to find out that as checking-out guests, we had a guaranteed seat in the shuttle, hence it was full...

The valley is stunning and it is car-free . I was amazed by how beautiful it is. The pension was lovely and very comfortable.

Food and beverage. Was expecting much more from a restaurant claiming to be working only with seasonal/biological/local products. Most of the food offer looked pre-cooked stuff.
