Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesAir con obviously would make a big difference in the warmer months, but this is Europe. If you are very sensitive to noise while you sleep I suggest you bring earplugs, especially if you have to sleep with the window open.
The location cannot be beat, right on the water looking out at the bridge. The walk from the train station was short, just out, over the bridge, and over. It was strange to have to check in below at the pub, but the staff was very friendly and we had no problems once so ever. We opted for the slightly bigger room and it was perfect. While you can hear some noise from the crowds below at night, with the windows and door closed the sound is minimal. It was a bit warm when we visited, but a nice breeze came in and they provided a fan. Would 100% stay here again.

AustraliaThe only negative we could say and it wasn’t for the property was the smell of smoking occasionally at the pub or promenade.
The view and location of our room was amazing. We looked over the Chapel bridge and river. The room was oldish but comfortable. We would definitely recommend.

United StatesThe linens were not great. Why only one pillow per person? It was really not too, and the fan they gave me had a really short cord so it didn't even come close to me. I was in this weird long room; I guess it was a triple, but only me in it. That said it was nice and clean.
The location is great. The views are amazing. And it's easy to get around. However, I stayed there during a heatwave, and there is no AC and I couldn't open the windows because flies would come in since we are so close to the water. Tradeoffs though. I really liked this location and concept. It's great for social people who want make new friends since it's above a pub. But you get your own room.

United StatesGreat view, but there are a few things to consider. Undeniable view of Kapelbrücke bridge. Absolutely beautiful looking out over to Mount Pilatus. However, first there is no air-conditioning, probably typical of a lot of hotels here but just know that there is none. That means you're going to have to open your windows for air. We were there in early September and it was very hot. Could not have made it without the fan provided and the open windows. However, there is a note on the table saying beware of mosquitoes if you turn your lights on. We had no problem with the mosquitoes with the windows open but we kept our lights to a minimum. The other thing to consider though is it's above a very popular English pub. Food there is great and everyone seems to know that, so on the weekends with your windows open the street noise can be loud. And can be louder on into the night from people enjoying themselves. Also there is a Sunday market, so about 4 o'clock in the morning on Saturday they start clearing the outside dining tables and that makes noise as well. Wi-Fi was great hotel and staff are great. Towels were a little thin. But otherwise it was a great stay. Just know there's no air-conditioning and with the windows open you were going to have noise in the evenings. Also, you are right in the heart of everything. But the view, yes, is fantastic. Even with the noise, I would stay there again.
