Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaThe location is a seedy part of town, but seemed safe during our stay.
The room is spacious and also has a fridge and microwave. Its located near the station and has lots of restaurants downstairs.

Wifi did not work all 3 nights we stayed. AC did not work as well, so we had to open the window and ask for a fan. It was quite noisy from the outside.

United StatesThe hotel's neighborhood seemed a bit uneasy, with a prostitution establishment a couple of down the block. The way you enter the hotel with a card key straight from the side walk felt unsafe. There was one time a young couple just followed me into the building. I wasn't sure if they were guests or not.
I liked the location being within walking distance from the strain station. The room was clean and simple. The bathroom was clean and the towels and sheets were clean as well. Good value for the price at the center of Genève.

KyrgyzstanThe curtains in the room haven't been washed in a long time. İt's just disappointing since Residence is part of Novotel.
The location is great, you get breakfast every morning. The staff has been super helpful and kind. Wifi works very well. You have a small kitchen, and small fridge.

Qatar1- The hotel has no reception. When I arrived, I found a closed door and you need an access card to enter. I called the phone number and discovered that I need to go check-in in the reception of Novotel (next building to Résidence Studio), moving with the bags back and forth. This information is not provided prior to arrival. 2- AC is reaaly bad and not cooling properly.

United KingdomLooking out of the window was poor as nothing nice to see, the other residents were somewhat noisy, and the location of the studio was within the `Red Light District` which will next time if i come will be a major factor in choice of hotel with prostitutes parading themselves from early morning till whenever, disgusting, should be removed from the streets. No info as too how to check-in at the front of the studio as to where to go, but on the inside door which is way in so you don`t know that it is there. Had to go to Novohotel into reception only to find out that they are the ones that run the place, perhaps that can be included to help other holiday makers alike when they come.
Room was clean and bright, good kitchen facilities, bathroom with shower good.

PolandThe street where the hotel is located tends to be very noisy during evenings and nights, especially at weekends. Some may feel uncomfortable passing by. It was difficult to keep our window open during nights and not to experience the noise of nearby pubs.
It is located very close to the main train station, so really easy to access. Check-in is done at Novotel: the personnel was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions. Room is convenient and equipped with small kitchen: perfect to make a tea/coffee or store products in the fridge. Overall, generally good experience. We also received a Geneva Ticket which allowed us to travel on public transport free of charge. Some good places to eat nearby.

United KingdomFront door to the apartment block was broken on day two so the security of the building diminished. Noisy periods through the night with slamming doors, possibly could have had better dampeners to prevent this. only 1 pillow each which I thought was a little poor
Room was a good size and met all our needs, a little basic but got what we paid for. Location was central and we were able to get around using the free transport (once the City Tax was paid)

United KingdomThere is NO kitchen! A microwave is NOT for cooking so to say a kitchennete is not good. I wanted to prepare a few simple meals. I could not even boil an egg. Even a two ring hob would have been good. I am sorry to complain about this but I would have booked a simple hotel room instead if I knew I could not cook here.
The location was very good. Just 4 minutes from the station. In a good local area with lots of good local cafes and restaurants nearby. With two on opposite corners. The local restaurants offered lots or choices from the finer dining to those more local and excellent value for money. Just a short walk to the old town for a more 'tourist" experience.

Simple hotel with no pretensions - compact room good for business trips especially as surrounded by bars, restaurants and night life seven days a week and most open late and on a Sunday if your stay is over the weekend
