Room was quite narrow, with little legroom between bed & wall. It is an old building with modern big beds so understandable.

Staff were friendly and responded quickly to messages before arriving. Room was clean & warm. Tea & coffee facilities in stairwell on each floor with no extra charge. I can recommend the classic burger with extra cheese, was very tasty.

The hotel is ancient and the wooden structure are largely present (doors, stairs, floors,…). this makes historical but sometimes even a little noisy and the door is not perfectly isolating noises coming from the floors. The presence of the smoking room at the ground floor makes the smokers happy but the smell is going all around. luckily, restaurant and breakfast are at the first floor …

An historical building in the central area , clean and apparently recently refurbished. despite the visible age of the interiors, everything is well kept and the efforts for keeping it at high level of cleaning and welcoming is evident. super gentle the person at the reception. Outside the area is very quiet, no traffic being practically in a pedestrian area. Private parking on the back of the hotel itself but not easy to find since to reach it it seems to enter in the pedestrian area (don’t park in the squares in the front, you have to pay, just turn around the hotel for the free park). the bed with metal structure and surrounding tents is old style but very comfortable. available coffee machine on the second floor with wide choice of coffees and tea. a nice bar with some tables welcomes you for relax and a good beer.

Really good overall for a short stay. There is nothing "fancy" in the hotel, but I was not expecting it.

This is a small and quite old hotel, in the center of Altdorf, that is well maintained, clean, and has friendly and helpful staff. The location is perfect in the center of the town, with direct access to restaurants, shops, and historic places. Very clean rooms. Good breakfast. Reasonably priced.
