How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Too expensive for a 3 star hotels. Also too cold, with the heaters not working properly. I tried to contact the property but then no one picked up

The room was cold on arrival and it took a whole day before it became decently warm.
The location is really great. Though not luxurious, the premises and room were clean, functional and sufficient for the purpose of the stay. The breakfast is also decent (if you like continental).

The location was good - about 700m from town centre / train station but closer to the start of the gondoler to the top of the glacier. The price was much lower than properties closer to the centre so well worth the little walk. We had a little mountain view from the window. In our case it was really a sleep over space so it was perfect for our needs/

The pillow could be higher in my opinion.
We enjoyed the stay at Rhodania. I like the bathroom, it is compact but well arranged , has a tub for release after hiking. It has shared balcony on each floor, you can see the top of Matterhorn from there. Stuff are nice and friendly, check in was super easy and quick. It even has a lift,you don't need to climb stairs. It is easy to get to cable station of Matterhorn paradise, about 8 minutes walk. It is quiet,, not far away from town center. Breakfast is simple,we like the cupciono every morning.

That we didn’t stay longer !
- super easy check-in (even 2 hrs early) - very friendly host and breakfast staff - offer to stow bags free even when we checked out - nice building - nice bed & bath - nice views out our window of the town and mountains - nice little balcony Zermatt is an incredible place to hike and mountain bike in the summer.

Its a bit old property. So everything is a bit outdated.

the interior was a bit old and the bed was not that comfortable, but overall it was a nice stay.
the location was easy to find and also near the matterhorn glacier paradise (very close by walk). the room was spacious enough for 2 people and it had a great view from the room. breakfast was good.

Breakfast was nice but a few hot options would have been appreciated.
The room was comfortable and clean. Our balcony had a fantastic view of the Matterhorn. The attached pizza restaurant ( North Wall) was excellent. Our dog was made very welcome.

It was quite a distance to walk with cases from the railway station.
Staff were helpful and polite and they allowed us to drop our bags so we could explore even though we were too early to check in. They even delivered our bags to our room. This allowed us to maximise our time in Zermatt. We had a room with a lovely partial view of the Matterhorn and the location was peaceful. The bathroom was modern and clean and the beds were comfortable.

Beds not the most comfortable. Not bad, but not excellent. Room a bit dated, grout in the tub/ shower needs a good scrubbing.
Clean room (but see - regarding shower), nice breakfast, ski room with boot warmers, friendly staff.

Very central location in Zermatt. The next ski lift (Matterhorn Express) is a 10 min walk. Apres ski bars are found around the corner. The rooms were simple and functional. The breakfast was in a cosy restaurant room with very friendly personal. In summary, a nice simple hotel for ski vacation.
