Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThis listing needs to be changed. DO NOT BOOK UNLESS YOU SKI. The property is a 20 minute/$50 cab ride from town. Once you are there, you are trapped. All guests are skiers. The restaurant was filled with lots, drunk skiers singing and carrying on. I'm sure if you ski, it's a great hotel. I felt unwelcome & uncomfortable. Very overpriced.
Beautiful view of the mountains & slopes. Nice breakfast.

SwitzerlandBreakfast was average by Swiss standards, or to be honest, lackluster compared to other ski hotels we've stayed at. The Birchermüesli in particular could be improved to taste fresher and more flavorful. A tall hot-water dispenser for guests to fill our own tea mugs would also be a significant improvement. (During our stay, servers had to bring individual glasses of hot water to the table when someone wanted tea for breakfast.) A wider bread selection, some more varieties of Gipfeli for instance, would also be appreciated. Nonetheless we always found plenty to enjoy at breakfast that'd fuel our full ski days.
The #1 advantage of Hotel Salastrains for us was that it is a real ski-in, ski-out hotel, only a one-minute walk from a ski rental center and a ski school. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. The dinner menu offered a good selection, and there was an additional prix-fixe multi-course option for hotel guests. We thank the cleaning staff for always presenting with us with a clean room upon our return from a day of skiing, with considerate touches for the children. There was a lively après-ski scene every afternoon on the patio with dance music, with people clearly enjoying themselves. We didn't participate in that, but also didn't mind; some guests, though, might find it a bit loud.

IndiaConsidering the location of the hotel, and also considering that all guests do not arrive by cars, the hotel should arrange for free courtesy transfers between the train station and the hotel.

Czech RepublicPoor sound isolation between rooms makes you fully dependent on how your neighbours behave. We experienced noise till 1am from one side and wake up fuss from 5.30am. Furtuniture desperately requires adjustments if not replacement, e.g. drawers were really difficult to open/close.
Nice location overseeing St. Moritz and lake. Very good selection for breakfast, helpful staff. Free pass for St. Morizt/Corviglia/Piz Nair funicular/cable car is a nice benefit and saves your budget. Rooms look nice, matresses are bit harder (which I enjoy but my wife not so much), availability of 2 different pilows is great. Underground parking is convenient. We liked the overall atmosphere of old-school ski hotel.

United KingdomThe downside to having a great view is that if you go to the centre of St Moritz it’s quite a workout walking back to the hotel being a steep walking for over a mile. Being 6’6”, showering in the bathroom was hard work.
Great view from room. Very quiet in the evening. Free secure underground parking.

SwitzerlandUnfortunately the booking site don’t mention clearly that the altitude is 2000 m. This is a danger for people with heart or respiratory problems like my husband has a pacemaker. We were very anxious and couldn’t enjoy the stay longer next day

LuxembourgThis hotel is very tired, with few renovations done for many years. The location was extremely difficult to get to and find, however serious skiers in the winter would probably be happy with this location.

United StatesI had read that people got a tram pass with 2 day stay but we did not. And not knowing locally signs we got a parking ticket for parking at the tram. Some helpful knowledge at check in about this would be good. Beds could be better. Tiny bathroom which we expected and didn’t mind. Handicapped will have trouble on old style tubs.
Staff was super helpful and accommodating! Love our location away from city but easy transport
