How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The apartment is on the 2nd floor, which we thought it is one floor up from the street level. It turned out the street level is 0 then 1st floor then 2nd floor.
The apartment is beautifully decorated with sufficient facilities and a nice view of the surrounging neighbourhood from the balcony. It is located in a quiet part of busy Zurich with just 3 tram stops from the central train station.

Beautiful apartment in a great location. Very good communication from owner who also facilitated an early check in. We used both rooms, with two children and two adults.

We would have loved a fan as it was quite hot, but I think these very warm days are not that common.
Beautiful apartment with everything you will need for your stay in Zurich - and especially great with families to have a kitchen and washing machine! We loved the personal touch, and the ideal location for getting around Zurich.

Only small area for improvement was comfort of fold out, which was a little uncomfortable.

Great location, within walking distance to the old town. We enjoyed the shops in the area particularly the bakery was amazing. Host was responsive and instructions were clear.

If I had to knit-pick, it would be how many times our arrival time was discussed, only to have the place not ready. It wasn't really problematic, as we used it as walk-around time in the area, but we talked about it more than once in addition to updating the arrival hour in the booking.com app. Illbert was very kind about it but he was clearly caught off guard.
The apartment was ample and very well appointed with simple but quality furnishings with a soothing color palate throughout. Located on the second floor of an old building, it is painstakingly well maintained and everything is masterfully installed. Having the two balconies----one off the kitchen and one off the living room----provided great outdoor spaces to sit with a glass of wine or cup of coffee. I would come right back to the Pastorini in a heartbeat!

Beautiful place. Terrific location, great neighborhood, not touristy but easy walk to Old Town and the Lake. Great host. After days at a hotel in Old Town, I was happy to find this listing.

House was super comfortable near to Zurich HB station and also near to lake. It had all amenities required for short stay. Host was very supportive. Host was quick to respond and arrange what ever we needed like Swiss adapter etc.

It could have a little more cozy charm like color in the toilet room with art or paint, kitchen needs to be organized better and provide spatula and cooking utensils, stovetop isn’t working 2 burners are out.

The stained glass window is beautiful, but a large chunk of the living space is visible from outside. It was really warm inside the apartment because it didn’t have AC. We opened the windows to bring cooler air into circulation, but the neighbors were quite noisy even late into the night (past midnight).
The owner left a helpful booklet with city and restaurant recommendations — it was very helpful after an exhausting day of traveling. The kitchen was also well furnished. The space was clean and situated close to the bus station.
