Bathroom needs to be refreshed and the breakfast wasn’t of great quality

no iron in the room - due to fire risk ( there is a paid laundry and ironing service offered though). Not a problem for many people but, considering my profession, it was for us. it was quickly resolved though by helpful staff.

lovely mini suite, very clean and comfortable. Wardrobe and chest of drawers were very handy. The sauna and swimming pool also very good and not crowded.

The hotel has a pool, but it was a bit cold during our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The hosts are taking lots of efforts to please the guests. The stuff is very professional and attentive. It’s a perfect place for families, with easy access to the ski lift where there’s a lot to do for kids. We stayed for the new year night and the party organised by the hotel was a very high level. Thank you!

It's all a bit outdated but that's part of the charm.

Location and ambiances were very good. Friendly staff and extensive breakfast in belle epoque atmosphere. Free parking in front, really good bed and pillow. No noise at night, close to the cable car to Oeschinensee.

The hotel seems old and tired. The decor is a little shabby and the rooms are very basic. I had a double room but my bathroom was tiny. It would be difficult to have two people sharing this facility. The breakfast room is gorgeous, big and airy but the breakfast itself is very basic.

Great hotel to stay in with a pet. My dog was allowed everywhere even the restaurant. Hotel is warm, clean and welcoming. Amazing location, in the town but easy access to walking trails. Restaurant next door (seems to be connected to the hotel) was really good with super friendly staff.

The room is clean and the breakfast is better than we expected. The hotel is located in the city center and you can easily access supermarkets and restaurants in 5 mins. The staff are friendly and helpful. Thanks to Sonika, we got the guest card for the cable car discount via email before check-in.

Reception told us we couldn’t eat dinner in the dining room as we hadn’t reserved before 11am - we subsequently found this not to be true. We breakfasted at 9 - the hot food was mostly gone.

Beautiful, historic hotel in a glorious setting. Evocative of a bygone era, one half expects to see Hercule Poirot come shuffling down the stairs. Take a wander through the reception rooms - it’s like stepping back in time. If aggressively modern, black and chrome is your thing then this isn’t the hotel for you.

Hard to identify some problems or something we did not like. Nothing could be ideal. For me very important is the fact hotel`s staff is very nice and helpful when needed; simply doing their best. There is one thing some people would not like, during our stay for one week elevator (lift) made tricks several times by not arriving for longer period of time of turning his way to basement instead of selected floor. We found it funny since there were no hurry and we had plenty of time, however, for somebody it could be disturbing.

Our room should rather be described as apartments; wide rooms with balcony and nice view on mountains. However the best value of this hotel is its staff - very kind and always highly positive. Breakfast and breakfast time was always enjoyable both inside and outside in hotel`s garden. Indeed, location of hotel is perfect despite of quite a small area of the town. It`s just in the middle of three main mountain hiking directions. Worth to be mentioned, my wife liked to spend some time in hotel`s swimming pool before dinner.

The hotel itself is a bit dated. It's ok, as it's located in an old traditional house. There is no aircon available, which could be an issue on a hot summer day.

The hotel room I got was huge. The location of the hotel is in the middle of Kandersteg, easy to reach by train and bus. Staff were friendly, breakfast was also great.

The beds were a bit to firm for our taste, and the rooms felt a bit dated.

Location of the hotel is very nice. The staff working in the reception was very friendly, the room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was good with a good selection of food.
