Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

PhilippinesThe check-in process was a nightmare. We arrived in Switzerland at almost 7 pm and we have not yet received the room number and the access code. With the check-in time being 3pm, I would have expected to receive it by that time. But I made a lot of email follow ups and messages here in Booking.com for the room and code but no response. I was able to get the room and code after I called the customer service number - which should not be the case.
The apartment was well-furnished for a 2-night stay. Water pressure in the shower is excellent.

IndiaImprovements suggested: 1) The taps in WO012 were old style - They had to be turned full left for hot water, which causes wastage of water and also it spills outside. 2) The hand shower was also old style and the resting hook was bad. 3) Top shower was actually not a shower but a big waterfall - needs to be a good shower. 4) Water Jet needs to be provided in at least one washroom. 5) House keeping and replacement of towels/bedsheets is not done even for a long stay of 8 days - which is bad.
The location and facilities were excellent. Contact less check-in was also amazing.

FinlandI had to argue with neighbors who listened to loud music semi-daily, and no one was on the premises to help. However, we've found common ground after all.
It is a nice location outside the city center, with excellent public transport connections; thus, walking was also doable. The apartment is clean and has all the necessary appliances for a living.

RomaniaThe most annoying thing is the part when you get the code. I booked in the night, after the official check-in time, and could get the code before I reached out several times to the call center to ask for it. I needed to send the documents in 2 formats before they were approved and I got the code. And also, you should make a separate booking for the parking if you need it, but you can get the answer "we don't have available spots".
Nice apartment with everything you need for a short stay. Good location, close to the city center. A nice restaurant in the building, that can deliver everything you want directly in the room after just a call.

Sri LankaWe stayed only 2 nights. Was shocked at the flat pillows we were given. We had no sleep the first night due to this . I sent them a message and they changed the pillows the next day. Disturbing painting on the wall of a woman giving birth. Also it would have been helpful if we had been told prior which floor our apartment was on. We were a little confused when we got there and luckily we met a gentleman who helped us.
Location was great. Very close to the train station, shopping mall and convenience store.

United KingdomThe windows overlook the raivay, where repair work was carried out at night. But we were so tired that we didnt pay attention to it.. The room could have been cleaner... We were unable to book parking even though we wrote about it two days in a row. The responsesfrom the admin or owner seemed to be automstic! Therefore, we had to look for parking nearby, wasting a lot of time... We also didnt get to the fitnes room. There was no powder in the laundry room! I think that you can provider in your room if you indicate in the ad that there is a laundry room )
