After a self-service breakfast, it is quite unusual to place dishes in the dishwasher. At least one staff should be there (or close) at the Lodge, as the hotel (with the reception) is across the bridge, on the other side of the river. It also took us some time to collect our entrance keys, until instructions were given to us by a speaker

Self-service is a bit unusual when living in Asia, and the absence of staff is sometimes kind of a problem, but in overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. There were plenty of great ideas to decorate the hotel, even the staircase, and of course the rooms. Ample space, clean and quiet.

I am highly allergic to dust. The fabric at the bed board is easy to trap dust.

The staff are very friendly, helpful and polite. The train station and bus no 192 to Brulisau are just a minute's walk from the lodge. The facilities are new and function well. The provision of washing machine and dryer is great. Nice view from my room towards the mountain.

Modern, clean, and great facilities for your use. All staff was very friendly and welcoming. We were able to park our car in an underground garage, do some laundry, and the breakfast was nice to fuel us for our hike in the Appenzell mountains. Would recommend for families-our room had a crib for our one month old and a single bed for our three year old. It was also very nice to have a bathtub in the room for bathing the children.

The breakfast was very expensive, but very poor. We were with 2 people and received in total: 2 small rolls of bread, 1 yoghurt, some cheese, 2 cookies, 2 apples and a package with 8 slices of salami. So, unless you take the actual breakfast in the hotel, don't take the breakfast bag for your room.

Very nice hotel in a quiet village. The Lodge is separated from the actual hotel, with its own services. The room was very spacious, modern, and clean. Staff was friendly.

We were a little confused about check-in, as you have to go to a different hotel up the street, but once we figured out where to go it was fine - the staff there were very friendly and helpful.

The location was great - we had a lovely view of the river and mountains. It was very clean, comfortable, and modern. The breakfast was very good.

Great place, only thing the river ran passed the room and is loud but hey that’s nature & i’m a light sleeper so had ear plugs (was a warm night so had to keep the window open)

Staff super helpful, I arrived early as hoped to check in and go hiking for the day (and leave my bag in the room) as the room was not ready yet (I was early so understandable) they had a big locker I could use to leave my stuff then go hiking for the day. The Lodge is close to the train station, comfortable and tasteful room

It's mot a complaint, but when i arrived to the place, which was around 9 pm, the doors of the parent hotel were shut for like 20 minutes (automation did not work) and until staff showed up I was there alone at the street thinking if I have to sleep at the street tonight :D

Huge spacious room with modern interior design! Even though there is no reception desk, you can get anything you want at the lobby or at the looby of their parent-hotel, which is indeed 100 meters away. People were super nice to me!

The coffee machine broke down at breakfast time which was inconvenient but an enterprising maid found an acceptable substitute fairly quickly.

The Weissbad Lodge is a lovely concept. Reduced services and price but very satisfying and innovative. Very comfortable rooms with a "Wall of Generosity" with any supplies, coffee machine and so on. Breakfast delivered early morning in a paper bag. Located just 50 meters from the train stop. Easy spot from which to visit attracting in the area like the town of Appenzell or the Hoher Kasten cable car.There were some problems with the light settings on an earlier visit but these were resolved. We enjoyed both our visits

We had a quick stay at the Weissbad Lodge after a long hike and it was just what we needed. We also walked over to the Hof Weiss Hotel across the street to have a nice cocktail. The room was comfortable and enough room for two people and the breakfast bag we received in the morning was nice!

The only small problem is a surprising lot of traffic in the morning on the nearby road, which you would not expect in a countryside village. But this doesn't trouble the general excellent holiday experience!

The room was next to the street and was quite noisy at times. The lighting in the room was, frankly, bizarre. There were two positions: bright lights and "night" which was six bright ceiling lights and one in the shower but no light by the sink or toilet except on the bright position which was ludicrous. Also, there was no dimmer. I used a flashlight to go to the toilet during the night to avoid turning on either the night or the full bright position and disturbing my partner. The sink in the bathroom was like a large waste basket and quite inconvenient. Architectural weirdness. Also, we ate one dinner at the main hotel and found the service to be quite poor, waiting half an hour for our main dish and not having the staff refill the wine glasses. One felt all the attention was on guests in the main hotel, the Hof, and not on those staying in the less-expensive nearby Lodge

The breakfast arrangement with the preordered bag delivered to the door at 07:15 and good coffee available in the lounge was very well done. The Lodge was located only 100 meters from the Weissbad train station. The room was well furnished and very comfortable. Adjacent to the main hotel was a lovely herb garden which my partner greatly enjoyed

Breakfast average. Bread, cheeses etc. not topped up. Experienced better during a 6 week stay in Switzerland.

Close to Train and Bus stations. Very good location not far from Appenzell. Nice Restaurant with good Swiss style food offerings nearby. Large if somewhat bland rooms.

The Lodge is modern, clean, quiet (at least while we were there - the road is quite close) and well thought-through. The “breakfast in a bag” was perfectly adequate, although for a splurge the breakfast in the main hotel is splendid.
