Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe breakfast, while good, was a little lacking in options.
Everything was above and beyond. The outdoor showers were awesome. Great snorkeling out front. Close to a couple places to eat . Can rent Escooters onsite which was awesome. We stayed 3 nights , then 2 nights in One Foot Island and now 2 nights elsewhere on island....I wish we had returned to Etu Moana

AustraliaThe local roosters are very noisy, sometimes at 3am non stop, so I suggest ear plugs which we had for our flight. You sort of get used to them. The rain head shower could be better, not as hot as we would like and the flow is low. But otherwise we can't complain.
If it's peaceful atmosphere your looking for you will definently love Etu Moana. The villas are really beautiful. We loved the ocean view villa. The staff are really lovely which says alot about Management. Breakfast is enjoyable, always nice and fresh. The gardens and beach area are lovely and beautifully maintained. Kayaks, paddle boards and accessories are available which we enjoyed using. Push bikes are also included and electric scooters for $10 a day are great fun (I hesitated then we used them on the last day and loved it). Or book scooters from Rino ahead is probably a good idea. The island isn't very big but for a decent look around I suggest using scooters. It's an easy walk to Tamanu Beachfront Restaurant (Islander night a must) and if your keen for a longer one the Pacific Resort is highly recommended.

AustraliaGuests should be aware of limited lunch and dinner options both at the resort and surrounds (depending on day of the week). Breakfast is included. My advice is to plan ahead if possible for meals. The Etu Moana team can provide plenty of options ahead of time for your consideration. We didn’t make use of the kitchenette as we decided to eat out but it was reasonably equipped given its remote island location. Grocery supplies on Aitutaki can be limited.
A beautiful boutique property in a relaxing location. The sunsets across the lagoon were stunning. Each day we SUPed in the lagoon and saw turtles, rays and other reef fish. I’ll definitely stay there again if I return to Aitutaki.

New ZealandThe Bathroom was very dark it was very hard to see in the bathroom. There was a led light but it was broken. The Beach was lovely but shallow to swim even at full tide.
The Villa was spacious. The beach was a few steps away. Plenty of loungers. The Staff were just lovely from the Hosts to the Gardener and the Cleaners. The Local Ladies that provided breakfast around the Pool were amazing, it was always a lovely experience having breakfast. There was an Honesty Bar which was easy and the pool was clean.

New ZealandThe villas were gorgeous with their palm thatched roofs and the grounds beautiful with pathways down to the swimming pool/bar area and the beach. Tiffany was very helpful and guests could have the use of a buggie to go to a restaurant or for a little sightseeing. Whilst there was no restaurant on-site guests are offered different meals in the evening by the pool. The fish n chip night food was delicious and the breakfasts tasty. All in all a wonderfully relaxed stay with great hosts and staff

New ZealandGreat breakfasts and friendly helpful management and staff. Loved having the use of electric mopeds on site which helped us explore the island and go places for lunch or dinner. Beautiful garden setting which was so quiet and relaxing. Rooms are well-appointed and close to beach. Paddleboards and kyaks available. Well ventilated rooms with insect screens - didn't have to use the air-conditioning (in July at least) Great place for sunsets

United StatesThe staff is very welcoming and the property is gorgeous! Great gardens and right on the beach. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have a comfortable stay - even helping coordinate delivery from a nearby restaurant! Our favorite part was the free use of an electric golf cart. It was a great way to tour around the island and we saw a lot more than we otherwise would have.

New ZealandIt could be a good idea if the beds were upgraded as they are not hotel quality and a duvet blanket would make it feel more luxury rather than just a sheet.
This place is by far the best choice you could make if you like a botique style experience.

New ZealandWe had regular and clear communication and the in-person service from Jeff and Tiffany was superb - from airport pickup, to arrival, to making bookings for us. And the rest of the staff at breakfast and room-cleaning were also very friendly. Having the electric cart and bikes to tour the island was also great.
