Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe kitchen was small. Other than that, nothing.
The place was very beautiful, good location, not too far from the center. The little tents were amazing, the bathrooms always very clean, and the video be in general was perfect. The staff was very friendly and helping.

United KingdomNothing major but some small things could do with some more attention. The bathroom doorknob was almost lose in our room. also when arriving there were no towels or soap in our room. The communal kitchen could do with more regular cleaning. also would be nice to have more offer on free coffees and teas at the reception.
Good amenities and comfortable rooms for a hostel. also a nice garden and pool and 24h reception

SpainOn one occasion they played really loud music until after 11pm. We had to wake up at 4am the next morning (which is not unusual for the tours in San Pedro), so that was disturbing.
We stayed in one of the tents with private bathroom. The space and the tent are really nice and recommended. Staff is also nice and they let us stay on the property after checking out to wait for our flight.

United StatesWe stayed in a tent and as cute as it was, didn't offer any soundproof. Maybe it was bad luck, but during our stay we had some guests who liked to party loud, making it impossible to get some sleep before waking up early next day to go for an excursion. Later we found out that it's allow to make noise until midnight. ☹️
Javi was the best, she went above and beyond and help us from booking excursions to recommendations to where to eat, etc. She really made a difference. Mario also was a great help keeping an eye on the pick up times for our excursions. The beds were comfortable, clean, showers with hot water.

Good location The receptionist, Javiera, was very nice and helped us with the information we needed. Warm rooms Good parking Nice landscaping Excellent beds

United KingdomThe hostel needs more staff - the staff always seemed so busy! This made it hard to rent bikes and ask for advice. The tours advertised at the hostel are much more expensive than what you’ll get at agencies in town. Slightly outside of the centre - 10 min walk.
Really nice hostel - huge grounds and a really nice swimming pool and relaxation area with hammocks etc. Comfy beds. Good showers. Friendly staff.

CanadaThe kitchen is super busy so if you plan to cook, time your meals well. There also seems to be a super loud nightclub nearby so if you're a light sleeper, take that into account.

NetherlandsWifi didn't work, kitchen is small and cramped. The 5 person dorm is tiny with a low ceiling, better to get the larger dorm which is normal size. The Spanish speaking girl from reception was very unfriendly to everyone, wasn't helpful and couldn't answer any questions about activities or even gave false info. She acted like she hated her job and didn't want to be bothered by any guest, so I don't understand why she works at a hostel....
Nice atmosphere, great place to meet people, good common spaces and garden area. Gus from reception was very friendly and helpful.

United StatesSan Pedro is quite small. The hostel is about a 10 mins walk from the main center - which isn’t bad unless you enjoy visiting the center often in one day. Not a bad walk though.
We were in a cute little double room made from adobe (?). Clean interior. Staff members were very helpful. There is a shared kitchen - we didn’t use but it was basic and clean. Nose level were low after midnight. Big outdoor space to hang out.

NetherlandsFelipe is continuously improving the camp side and giving a lot of love in it. Please excuse the ongoing work in the ground but don't worry about this two hours in the day, in the silent hours it is very quite and you can enjoy the stars in in peace with yourself.
Felipe the owner was a perfect contact point for my solo travel with my own car. He could provide me with the little extras I was already planning ahead. He gave me tips about security and the way to go with my own rental car. I did all the trips by myself. It was not always easy to get there but because I was traveling by myself I only had the responsibility for myself. Amazing experience. To come back in the cosy and absolutely comfortable tent bed preparing my own meal in the kitchen and on the grill was the little extra. Thank you as well for the clean bathroom and the motivated volunteer crew.
