The listing said room with lake view, in fact it referred to the property as a whole, most rooms give on the street, only the family room has view towards the lake. That was a bit disappointing but I still enjoyed my stay. The location is great but there are very few restaurants or shops nearby, you either need to have your own food and cook or trek back to town - it's only 10-15min walk to the centre but starts with a steep hill so it still requires motivation to brave it, especially if it's raining!

The fittings (chair, lampshades) were a bit threadbare and the kitchen wasn't spotless. The property is near a main road and there's a lot of traffic noise even at night. It's a bit of a climb back into town.

I loved my room because it had big windows on 2 sides plus an East facing glass door leading to a balcony. Basically the sun jumped into bed with me first thing in the morning. It was lovely to observe water birds in the estuary. The owner communicated with me in spite of not having English, checked me in early and recommended a good tour agency. Probably better value than the fancier boutique hotels on the other side of town.

There wasn't anybody there when we arrived. And we have a feeling one of our bags was tampered with; my daughter lost all her jewellery. Plus some of the kitchen equipment failed to work and it wasn't very clean

The view was spectacular and I slept fantastically. Shower also good. Wood burner also lovely.

Our room was near the main road and quite a lot of traffic noise and dogs barking at night.

Great place, a characterful palofito on the outskirts of Castro. Very nice decorations and great view. Use of kitchen or pay for breakfast. Several good restaurants within walking distance.

Sometimes hard to find a member of staff when issue arose with for example lack of hot water. WhatsApp seems to be the favourite way of getting in touch!

quite a small room but functional

functional and comfortable hostal, located very nicely on a little bay. Good value and nice breakfast is an optional extra. Nice atmosphere in the public areas with quiet spaces to sit overlooking the bay.

The hot water in my room lasted 2 minutes. I don't speak good Spanish and there is no 24 hr desk. I was too tired to try and contact someone to address the issue so I did not shower.

Great location. Great little kitchen for guests to use though not enough places to sit if all guests are cooking and eating at once. Beautiful little street. Enough street parking. A 15 minute walk to the center up hill. Several good restaurants on the street. Staff was friendly. Check in was easy. Family room had a plug in heater that worked great. Snuggly duvet cover.

No staff at reception, only to receive you. I was a bit disappointed with how empty it was expected people to hang out with but maybe it was because of low season.

THe hostel is beautiful and cozy and well equipetted, there was heating, whch is very imprtant, beautiful view, hot water, very comfortable.

We had problems with our bathroom and the rooms have no view and the details described in what’s included and layout of rooms on booking is exaggerated.

The shared bedrooms were very cramped and the beds weren’t very comfy. The lighting was also poor. Despite the amazing shared facilities, this still worked out to be an expensive stay.

Staying in a palafito was amazing. The outdoor balcony area and the kitchen were both beautiful.
