Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EstoniaIt's hard to claim to be something that wasn't. You rarely experience a hotel that is perfect. Therefore, it would be very unfair to criticize anything and I will refrain from doing it. We also experienced extremely heavy rain. It wasn't the hotel's fault of course, but we got wet and got our feet a little dirty.
Very friendly staff, exceptionally stylish and well-thought-out concept, the hotel is a work of art that caresses the soul of every guest. A short walk to the heart of the city is nice, the surroundings are quiet. Everything was amazing.

United KingdomI’d recommend renting a vehicle if staying here due to its distance from town. However, bikes are provided and the local drivers are conscious of cyclists. The roads are low speed and safe to navigate.
I have never felt more welcome at a hotel than at Planeta. Franklin and Carla really do look after you. Franklin is a fountain of knowledge on the Atacama and is very helpful in providing recommendations or arranging transport. The distance of Planeta from the town provides many benefits; it is incredibly quiet and peaceful, with the only noise coming from a donkey at a distant farm. There is also no light pollution, making for some fantastic star gazing and astro-photography. Being on the very edge of town also means a fantastic view from your room and your breakfast. The rooms are spacious, very clean and all have a great view. When in the room, you cannot hear any other guests and privacy has been ensured despite the large windows. The internet is also very fast and reliable, and I’d have had no problem working from here if necessary.

United StatesIt didn't bother us but it's a 25 minute walk into town
The rooms were large with a very comfortable king sized bed and a bed in a loft. The room had a magnificent view of the snow capped mountains. The bathroom was large and the shower was very nice. The property provides bicycles at no additional charge; it's a 6 minute ride to the center of town. Franklin and Carla provided the great hospitality.

MalaysiaIt would be nice to have a small pantry to do some light cooking as an option if you didn’t feel like going out for lunch/ dinner in town in the afternoon/evening.
Franklin and his wife were amazing, warm, friendly, attentive, and answered all our queries. Since we didn’t have a car, and taxis were difficult to get, he helped us arrange for a taxi from our previous place of stay to the lodge which we appreciated so much. The breakfast spread was lovely, with fresh coffee, juice and eggs prepared every morning.

United StatesEverything was amazing!
We had a wonderful stay at the lodge. Amazing place! Very beautiful lodge with spacious rooms. We enjoyed the view of beautiful volcanos from our window and starry sky at night. Breakfast was wonderful with fresh juice, coffee, lots of choices and, again, view of the volcanos. The lodge is located in a quite neighborhood within a short walk to lively center with great restaurants and shops. Franklin, the manager of the lodge, was incredibly helpful. He took care of everything for us. He arranged transportation from the airport, the best tours around Atacama desert, told us where to eat, shop, get money, etc. His English is perfect. If we had any question about anything, then he replied quickly via WhatsApp. We are so grateful to him for our amazing stay in San Pedro.

United KingdomWhat a fabulous place to stay! We loved the fantastic and friendly welcome from Franklin, the gorgeous room which was spacious, clean and with a huge comfy bed. We loved being out of town as I imagine it could be quite noisy. Instead, this small (maybe 4 rooms?) accommodation was about a 20 min walk into town along quiet roads that felt safe. The breakfast was good - overlooking the volcano and Andes! There is an honesty bar with beers and water and there’s less light pollution than in town so stargazing is better. Fabulous shower in the big bathroom and a secure place to park behind a gate. Room has a safe and even towels to take to the Céjar lagoon which was a nice touch. Would recommend!

LuxembourgNothing - we loved the fact that it was extremely quiet and very well integrated in the Atacama desert
Very cosy and beautiful little lodge outside the city center. They bicycles you can borrow, but we used our car to go to the center. There are only 5 rooms which looks a bit like small houses, there are very comfortable (no air conditioning) with all the amenities you need, even towels to use for your lagoons visits or natural hot springs. WiFi works perfectly and water is very warm very fast. Breakfast is simple but more than enough. Extremely quiet in the middle of nature with a lot of space to rest (hammocks, chairs, etc). The view from the room is amazing, right in front of the main volcan of the area

United StatesOne of the rooms was a bit hot - a fan helped. It can be a bit inconvenient to get into town without a car. Bikes are provided but they may not be available if other guests are using them or if they are in not the best condition. We had a car so this was a minor point but could be challenging for other guests
We loved our stay at Planeta Atacama Lodge! -We were greeted warmly by Franklin, plus signs welcoming us at the entrance and at our doors. He spoke perfect English and was very friendly and helpful, getting us checked in quickly and walking us through the property. -The view from the room and the common breakfast area was incredible. Rooms face sunrise + volcano, and it's remote enough to see stars very clearly (weather permitting) at night. -Breakfast was delicious, featuring freshly scrambled eggs, delicious bread and accompaniments, fresh juice, and a massive moka pot of coffee. - The room was spacious and clean, with a really cool traditional design - We rented a car for day trips, and it was easy to park on-site.

Small lodge with 5 rooms. Great breakfast. Great view. Fantastic hosts, very friendly and helpful. Franklin did the registrations/bookings for the sights. Would have been lost without him, all has to be done online, some in Spanish only and these webpages are so cumbersome. Franklin can be reached any reasonable time by WhatsApp or Signal. GermanyFranklin and his wife Carla run an amazing B&B, a little outside the city which makes it a very good spot for star gazing. Since we came by ourselves with a rented car, Franklin gave us very good tips of where to go, suggesting routes, helping us with purchasing tickets for the places we wanted to go and giving us restaurant recommendations. Breakfast is generous and personalized and even when we needed to leave very early one day, they made an effort to leave a snack for us to go.
