Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The property is really well equipped and there are so many well thought out details that make this far superior to other hostels that we have stayed in. It’s also cosy and warm at night and always really clean.

CanadaThis place has a character, nicely decorated entrance hall, wood cabinets in the kithchen, new kitchen equipment. Right accross from the small green park. Very clean, with a green lawn view from the window. Cheaper than the other places we stayed in Puerto Natales.

AustraliaNo major issues. Just loud bunks beds when you move. Really good showers and hot water, unless your the last person to shower then the hot water didn’t last through the entire shower.
Started in the private room. It is very clean and comfortable. The staff were super accomodating and booked extra nights through them where we had to stay in the shared dorm. Small hostel which was nice it was never over crowded. Cooking facilities and lounge/dining areas are very good. Staff are friendly and quite funny. They hire our gear for hiking and will hold gear while you do the multi-day hikes.

United KingdomWe were both on top bunks and it got really hot at night - but that's down to luck on who else is in the room & how much they like to blast the radiator / close the window!
Really friendly staff, well-equipped and well-sized kitchen, super clean bathrooms. Quiet & calm vibes from other guests. The lockers in the dorms were the most spacious we've seen in 8 months travelling! Great location between the bus station and the town, with a lavanderia just around the corner. We hired equipment for camping at the front desk too which was a good deal and great quality stuff :-)

United StatesThere wasn't a lot of space to connect with other people in the hostel. The kitchen is small but is kind of the main area, but there are quiet hours and no other places to talk. People would get back from the trek pretty late and there would be others wanting to discuss the experience, but this was not possible. Even in our rooms, we had to be quiet since the walls are pretty thin (we could even hear another person snoring in their room.) Not the fault of the staff or anything, just something to note. Could be a plus or minus depending on who you are!
The place was so clean and they maintained the facilities very well. The guys that take care of Puma House are very thorough and clean. All guests seemed to respect the facilities as well and would clean after themselves. You can rent gear here and leave your bag here when you're on the trek for free (if you stay at the hostel). The guys ask you to leave your gear on the bed in the morning you leave for the trek (usually you leave pretty early), and they put it in a safe place for you and give it back when you return. Showers and rooms are warm. Bathrooms are coed (there are two shower stalls and two toilets shared among all the rooms), but it's a smaller hostel for sure. Great lockers under the bed for your stuff otherwise.

ArubaNothing. It was great
We had the private room with private bathroom. It was perfect. Very compact and efficient with enough space (don’t be mislead by the size mentioned on booking). Cozy ambience. Kitchen is fully equipped. All joint areas really clean. So was our room upon arrival. The owner was very friendly. We got a warm welcome. He was helpful. We felt welcome and appreciated. Price was charged in usd so no unexpected strange exchange rates. Lots of free parking space in front. Mini market next door. Laundry around the corner. Lots of restaurants etc on walking distance. Area is very safe. Highly recommend this place!!

United StatesNothing bad to say
Wow, this hostel exceeded all my expectations! They reserved the gear we requested for us without a deposit. We rented a tent, two sleeping bags, two sleeping pads, two pairs of trekking poles and two backpacks, and everything was of good quality and in great condition. They also provide free storage for the items you don't want to take with you on the trek. I loved the huge lockers under the beds, the private showers and the location of the hostel. The bus terminal is only a 10-minute walk away. Tried to stay here again after the hike, but it was fully booked.

CanadaThe staff were absolutely lovely, very attentive and they kept the place spotless. The location is good, just a 10 minute or less walk from grocery store and many restaurants. The bus station is also only a 10 minute walk away. The double bed room with bathroom was relatively small but comfortable and the rate is reasonable.

United KingdomThis is one of the nicest hostels I have stayed in. The hosts are incredibly kind, the rooms and common areas are clean and well equipped and its a small cosy hostel with a great location and super helpful and kind people. There are options to hire equipment for trekking, bikes and car hire and they allowed me to store bags and wait there before the ferry. Really great place would recommend
