How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The water in the Bath tub most of the time have noticed is muddy and had also complained about the same with showing the pictures at the hotel reception . Plus the smell in the restraunt is really very uncomfortable
Breakfast is ok not so good as per International standards.

Breakfast could highlight more local cuisine and products.
Extremely nice staff at the lobby. Big thanks to Kelly and Maurice who helped me managing my small issue to get to the airport. Very comfortable and clean rooms. Nice facilities. WIFI is stable and strong, I had almost no issue.

Food menu can be improved

limited number of rooms (I couldn't have a single room), the floor of the bathtub easily retained traces of my slippers.

Very friendly staff that was always ready to help, clean rooms and facilities, decent breakfast. The room was just a little noisy sometimes because of outside noise.

The hotel is clean and very good condition. Rooms are really nice with staff being very friendly. Also internet is running relatively stable, which is pretty uncommon in Yaoundé. Breakfast is nice and plenty while lunch and dinner options are affordable and of good quality.

One of the elevators did not like to stop on my floor when going up. The other elevator was fine. AC had one temperature setting at 21 C (which can actually get cold after awhile). It is great when you are coming in, but it would be nice to bring the temp to 24 C.
Location, convenience of frequent shuttle transport to/from airport (already included in room charge), buffet breakfast with omelette table (already included in room charge), different daily dinner buffet (extra charge), strong wifi, soundproof windows, quiet hotel, fast room service, spacious bathroom, lots of lighting, and air purifier in the room. Friendly bilingual staff. Great open air balcony in the dining room.

The room was recently renovated, and there is no carpet in the room, which is great. The bed was comfortable, and the Internet was good, especially compared to the average in the city. The air conditioned worked well. Breakfast had many options (sweet and salty), and it was possible to order omelets directly to the kitchen. There is a Carrefour market nearby. The hotel provided shuttle service to the airport, I really appreciated it, especially because I arrived after midnight.

My stay at United Hotel International was a pleasant one. The hotel is chic with beautiful and well maintained amenities. The rooms are cosy and clean, the staff is warm and service in general is great. Okay internet connectivity with a small restaurant serving à la carte. Breakfast was equally good. When Back to Yaoundé the hotel is definitely going to be among my top options to consider.

Their service I find it very poor. They put with with WiFi when they isn’t WiFi in the room
The manager at the hotel is very disrespectful and Rude he doesn’t value customers. I think maybe cuz he thinks his white. I pay for a room with WiFi as I’m working at nights on my laptop. I called reception to report the WiFi wasn’t working in my room. Her reply was I don’t know why. I have to roaming in my phone to work what cost me 57£ without VAT. The next day! I ask to speak to the manager who refused to come talk to me 😳😳😳 The head receptionist put me in touch with their IT guy who confirmed to me the WiFi in my room was faulty. Still then the manager didn’t even come to apologise or refund what I spent. I’m very very disappointed with united hotel I think it doesn’t deserve 4 stars.

A bit pricy, but there is no much other options in Yaoundé.
Excellent hotel, in all aspects. Just a bit expensive, but totally worth it.
