“I received a very warm welcome here, although we were communicating through a translation app as I don't speak Mandarin and they don't speak English! The owner and her husband were very friendly and hospitable. My room was large and comfortable with a really really good shower. Breakfast was very Chinese but good - and adapted on day 2 as day 1's rice porridge wasn't really to my taste.
Location-wise, it's less than 5 minutes' walk to the West Gate bus station and less than 10 to Hongcun village proper. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby.”
